My favorite way to start a lazy morning

 They sent me a replacement unit for the balance/sound issue and the sound is now on par with other airplay devices that I have used. So the only issue I have left is not being able to switch from stereo to mono for my porch speakers either thru the Apple accessibility app or thru the WiiM app. I have upgraded my rating by one star for the company’s dedication to their product.

Not ready for prime time but they are constantly updating

 I simply connected the WiiM to my speakers via a standard audio jack, followed the set up instructions, and a few minutes later I was streaming music to my speakers. I would have given 5 stars except for the fact that every now and then the device cannot be detected by my phone and and I have to unplug and reboot it to get it to be detectable again. Otherwise it works perfectly.

I was looking for a cheap option to stream music from my phone to my outdoor speakers which are wired into my house. The WiiM Mini AirPlay2 did the trick. It works exactly as advertised. Set up was painless and I can now stream my iTunes collection as well as Spotify from my phone to my outdoor speakers

 Will write a support request and will report back if we can figure out issue. Other than that works great Wi-Fi has no drop offs. The WiiM app is usable but there updating it so can recommend it if ri rez isn’t a issue.

I've been in the market for a streamer for a while, but without wishing to break the bank...and it's been a long old wait

Big Value Budget Streamer

 I decided I was just too lazy to walk across the room every time I wanted to change songs. I recently subscribed to Spotify and quite liked it. The WiiM seemed to be the best budget way for my to try out streaming. Hooking up the WiiM was uncomplicated

 Now I'm not walking across the room to change songs. Yes, I'm a big, big fan of my little WiiM streamer.

I connected it to my Emotive PT-100 preamp via an optical connection allowing me to use the preamp's DAC. The sound was great and Spotify Connect made it possible to use that app to control the music

So this is what streaming is all about!

 It is not currently set to 5ghz only but it is connected via 5ghz.  Others who have mentioned the same problem in reviews (it's apparently a well known issue, which I did not realize with the otherwise very good reviews at the top) and mentioned they were shipped a firmware upgrade that addressed it, but unfortunately my unit does not present me with the option to upgrade firmware. At this point I'm about to throw it away with how frustrating it's been that it never works when I want to start music, and have to go unplug/replug it before listening to music (completely ruins the appeal of Airplay's ease). I reached out to WiiM Home a few days ago asking for support and have not received any response after 2 full business days, I will update the review if they're able to help but unless they pull a rabbit out of a hat, this is going in the trash

Constant disconnects make an otherwise nice package useless

 If John Atkinson says it'll do the job, I'm game. $100 and 2 days later I get the tiny box, read the quick instructions, connect USB-C to all and SPDIF to my NAD, add the App to my iPad, link the WiiM app to my Tidal and Amazon accounts and voila - I'm streaming PCM into my NAD's DAC. UI? - It's OK, it seems to integrate better with Amazon Music than Tidal, but once I pick a playlist or album I'm done. I don't jump around much

Hi res digital audio from phone to HiFi for under $100.

 For some reason Amazon Music does not offer anything higher than CD quality on this app even though they do on the PC app. I don't think there's a way to add more apps so in that sense you're at the mercy of what WiiM offers.  This is an entry level streamer but it really does offer a lot at this price. In my opinion, most hi-res streamers are ridiculously over priced

The WiiM Mini is a little music streamer (about the size of a hockey puck) that eliminates the need for a dedicated computer feeding your audio system. It's easy to control from the app, which is way more convenient than the KVM needed to control a computer. It's better than the Chromecast Audio which only has analog output and a clunky user interface. The WiiM is also different in that the apps are loaded on it and not on your phone

  This is an entry level streamer but it really does offer a lot at this price. In my opinion, most hi-res streamers are ridiculously over priced. Giving 5 stars for what it is, not what it lacks compared to the big boys.
