New tyres and pedals day. First time trying clipless, and I didn't fall over (yet).

  I think they are a perfect mix of fast riding center tread strip with the small side knobs that really help with granular hard pack surfaces. They stop that tendency to slip sideways in a turn or transitioning from paved to hard pack. I had no problem going over the low concrete curbs separating paved from hard pack surface. I purchased 700cx40 so I was able to run the pressure a little low which seems to have little impact on my speed but made a difference in riding comfort

which tyre for light gravel and streets?

 The 700c actually measures around 38mm, so they're really not as big and supple as you'd hope. Pretty nice to ride tubeless, installed without much fuss, but the problem is puncture resistance. Third ride in got a big gash in the side tread, and a little nick in the rim about 50mi later caused the tubeless install to fail at the sidewall.  The 650bx47mm is a much better tire experience

Sorry for any repost - wanted to see if there are any suggestions for a tire I can ride on the road to the trails on my gravel bike, and continue on the gravel trails. Like a mixed road/ gravel setup? I want to ride my bike to the gravel trails instead of taking my car. Trying to be more conscious of how much I drive!

EDIT: thank you everyone for your inputs. Little more info (I maybe should have mentioned this before): my bike is a Cannondale caad 6 Evo carbon (yes road bike that want to ride on gravel). It came stock with 700x23c tires. The wheels &quot;lips&quot; are too narrow to even fit the 23 when I have to change the tubes after a flat. I dont think I have clearance for anything more than a 28c, if I&#39;m lucky. I researched the tires you suggested, and it looks like those need a wider wheel? Is my understanding correct? Anyone in a similar situation wheel-wise?

Tires for both road and gravel rides.

Happy with the tread - it's exactly what I wanted for my gravel bike ridden on mixed surfaces - but it's not really tubeless-compatible. When installed as a tubeless tire with Peaty's sealant and Muc-Off tubeless valves, it would hold enough pressure for a short ride, but then go rim-on-floor flat overnight. When hunting for a leak I found that air was seeping directly through the tan sidewall - I could watch each little patch of foam grow as air leaked out (the bubbles are not coming from the valve, any spoke nipple, or anywhere along the bead - only directly through the tan sidewall). I doubled the amount of sealant and allowed the tire to rest on each side overnight in the hopes that it would seal the sidewall, but it still leaks, and on closer monitoring I discovered it will lose 10 lbs of pressure in a 1-hr ride

 They have been wrought with punctures and flats on my rear wheel(3 flats in less than two weeks) Have I reached the life of the tire? The tread appears fine, no cracks or other visible wear. I cleaned the inner portion thoroughly before replacing the inner tube. I've also noticed the rear tire has been slipping more frequently even on the road surfaces when under load either braking or pedaling. Should I swap the front and rear tires or has the tire reached its life expectancy?

I am having frame built for me that is more of AllRoad/Gravel. I don't live in an area with tons of gravel routes (Eastern MA, south of Boston). So am building this bike to be able to do both. I really think I will be doing more road overall.

I ride 28mm on my road bike and am trying to figure out the range for my new wheels that will be able to accommodate road and gravel.

From what i have read, i think I should look for internal width of 21-22mm. I think this will allow me to run tires between 28mm - 45mm. I'm not even sure what width tires I should start with. Is 35mm gonna be too harsh on gravel? What width can I get away with for some reasonable comfort on gravel without sacrificing too much speed on the road.

I will be doing a 2x GRX600 up front with a rear of 11-32/34/36. Not sure yet.

Budget only allows for Alloy wheels for now, 500-600 a pair.
