 So now what we're going to do is go over a couple key features and then we're going to talk about how it sounds now on the front of the unit. As you can tell it's pretty basic volume control, we have buttons for tone controls input. We also have a remote control in case you don't want to get up and actually change anything. The only two features i really want to focus on here is going to be the jack for the headphones, which actually sounds surprisingly good more on that later, and then we have a speaker, a b selector switch

 Look the point is this: is a real world product for real world people and what i like so much about it is that it's capable of delivering a consistent listening experience across a number of different situations that experience being a relatively easy going and full sound, and If you like that kind of presentation, this makes for a super easy recommendation. Now, of course not everybody is going to like that kind of sound. If you prefer more of a balanced and lively presentation with more control on the bass, you'll probably prefer the sony 190 and, of course, if you're all about speed and power and clarity, you may prefer one of those cheap class d amps that you can buy off. Amazon for the same price, or even less, there's no right or wrong here, but that leads me to the second reason why i like it, which is i just enjoy listening to it

 It could just be a whole lot of fun now. Obviously, it's not going to be for reference grade headphones, and there is just a little bit of hum that you can hear when you plug your headphones into the receiver. But as soon as you start playing music, even at low volumes, you're not going to notice it. So this is something that i thought was worth mentioning, but you know what i think: i've spent enough time talking about this product, so let's go ahead and wrap this up: [, Music, ]

So today, i'm gon na review, something that just about any music lover can afford. That'S right, i'm talking about a good old-fashioned, stereo receiver. Let'S go [ Music, ], alright, so here it is the yamaha rs 202 and when you get right down to it, this is a basic stereo receiver. It'S not meant for home theater applications and instead it's geared strictly towards music listening and what you're getting is a very minimalist design, both in terms of appearance as well as features

They’re the first speakers I’ve actually had to set up with my own speaker wire so it’s been a bit of a learning experience getting them set up, but now that they’re set up I couldn’t be happier with how they sound. I’ve got them hooked up to my Yamaha R-S202 with an old TEAC CD changed, vintage JVC cassette deck, and a fairly new Audio Technica AT-LP120.

These are nice starter speakers. I hope you have a good amp to power them

My first pair of brand new speakers, Klipsch R-41M on the desk for some good music while gaming

 3.) Remote control only works if you directly in front of the receiver and within 10' 4.) Bluetooth quit working altogether, had to buy a Bluetooth adapter to play from my cell phone.  Most Recent issue: System seems to have over-heated and now will only turn on for about 3-5 seconds and shut off immediately and is no longer useful

This thing gets hot, not sure if it is my Speakers causing it or if it is everything else. I am leaning towards my speakers, but will need to test another set to prove

Did not live up to hype

 I found it for 124 bucks we're shipping and you can see it's kind of the size of it there it's sitting on top of a six disc carousel, so it's fairly small receiver, extremely basic. You can see you don't have too many buttons and very small display, but for the money it's doing exactly what I wanted to do. A great sounding receiver and low cost there's the remote for it. It'S a really long, skinny remote

 Hopefully, nobody ever runs up and steals it on my garage of my doors open, but no, let me out a whole bunch of money, that's kind of the thought of getting something cheap out here in the garage that sounds good. What, if you're, looking for a cheap receiver, look no further than that? Yamaha rs.20, because it's it's pretty darn nice we'll play a little.  This receiver's sound is not nearly as crisp and clear and not even close to the same loudness... If you want a simple receiver and aren't looking for necessarily the cleanest sound and don't need a lot of power, this will be fine for you

Good receiver for the price... The sound is decent and the power is ok but I was expecting more from a Yamaha product that boasted 100w per channel

 I replaced an older Sony receiver that was supposed to be the same 100w that was partnered with two Yamaha tower speakers mostly just for the Bluetooth capability (which does work fine)... I was expecting a better sound quality and at least the same power output as the 15 year old Sony especially since it was paired with Yamaha speakers, but, I was very disappointed

Decent value but left me wanting more

 This is a very entry level. Receiver runs about 149. I believe i paid about 129 for it two years ago. I do not recommend this for, like a home theater

 Just so, it's easier to hook up the sub, but if you're gon na look for a receiver under 150, i don't think you can go and get wrong with this yamaha receiver i'll put links in the description below for the sub, my two bookshelves and the receiver. I recently realized that my TV speakers just aren't cutting it and am hoping to expand into the realm of discrete speakers. I've been doing research nonstop the last few days and have come to the conclusion that  I am looking to upgrade to a 2.1 system for my living room (about 14' x 12', or about 4.3m x 3.7m). I have a setup in mind but know there is someone who knows much more about this and figured I would ask in the case there is a better solution I am not seeing.        
          
Just some context - I had somewhat of a headphone audiophile phase a few years ago so I'm decently versed as far as amps/DACs are concerned.           
             
I am looking to keep this under 500 USD (but am flexible if it's really worth it). I like the idea of getting a receiver/amp for future flexibility but it seems COVID has jacked up prices and many budget options are out of stock or priced much higher, so I am unsure of the feasibility at this budget. The ones I found in stock seem to have reliability concerns.            
           
At the moment, I am eyeing the Edifier R1700BTs and Dayton SUB-1200 which would run me just under 400 USD. Again, I know that having a receiver/amp gives me more flexibility in the future, but currently my thought process is I can get all that stuff down the line and use the speakers with my PC when I have the capacity (in my current place, PC and TV are next to each other)              
             
My use case is games, movies, TV, music. Primarily they will be hooked up to my TV but I like the idea of Bluetooth to connect my phone as well. That said, I am not too particular and so long as there is some way to connect my phone (aux, usb, etc) Bluetooth isn't a hard requirement. I do not need anything that will get too loud as I have neighbors and really am just looking for an upgrade over TV sound. I am into hip hop and would like to get more immersion during games so I don't think just a pair of bookshelves will do.         
          
Location is contiguous USA. I appreciate any and all help!

Looking for advice moving from TV speakers to 2.1 system

I bought this receiver for its bluetooth capability since I thought it would allow me to play my favorite classical music from unlimited sources on youtube and radio stations on the web. I also use it for local radio channels, though the reception quality is not as clear as my car radio, even though I use an external antenna. I am an old-school audiophile and prefer two-channel stereo over the artificial surround sound systems so this is perfect for me. The reasons for why I did not gave it a 5 star rating are its weaker reception capability as well as occasional Bluetooth drop-off; that makes me reset the Bluetooth every hour or so

 The speaker power loudness and clarity are ok with my Altec-Lansing speakers and two additional KLH speakers. So I am not totally unsatisfied with what I got but would look for better Bluetooth reliability in my next purchase.

Good receiver with moody bluetooth

. And, of course it comes with an AM/FM antenna and a wireless remote to control it all.. A lot of people are using this receiver to power a secondary set of speakers in their garage on their back patio out by the pool places like that, and a lot of people are very happy with how well it does that
