 My problem is this: the underside is THIN and slippery. The original yoloha mat has an amazing nonslip rubber bottom that was solid and great for the practice. The native mat’s bottom is not the same material so it shifts around the floor a bit and slides up or back, and also sometimes bunches up (for instance when I’m going from right side half pigeon to left side), soI have to pull the mat back down to the floor. I thought about returning the mat but my last option would be a liforme or a lululemon and the cork just has such a great feel and smell to it and honestly the grippiness is (usually- not always) great

 PHOTOS: 1- you can see the wear on the top and bottom. This is using the mat for 1 month, 5 days/week in a hot yoga setting 2- so you can see the weird material of the bottom of the mat 3- thinness of mat 4- this is how it bunches in class sometimes and I have to pull it down

Ok, please note I only take hot Baptiste yoga so my review is based on the mat in a very hot room. First I purchased the original yoloha mat and when my hands slipped going up to wheel and my hands slid in down dog, I needed to return it. Enter the native mat. It has much better grip for hot yoga and I love the texture compared to the lululemon and jade mats I’ve tried

Good grip for hot yoga but slips

I love everything about this company; their mission and the construction of this mat. I just really wanted this to work for my hot yoga classes. I am in warm vinyasa classes in 95-105 degree heat; 40-50% humidity and this is my third mat; trying to avoid slipping when sweating in poses. I thought it did well the first two months; but I find myself really slipping in down dog and wheel; which if you do yoga; are not poses you want to slip in because you can hurt yourself

Very well made mat; but slippy in hot yoga

Great but not a long term investment.

Ever since I got this mat I’ve been thrilled with how well it gripped both wet and dry, and how quickly it dried even during class. It worked great for the yoga flow, and quickly became my favorite mat for the hot classes that end up soaking me. I liked how it looked and felt, and it was so grippy I rarely had any slip at all. I was so happy with it I started using it as my regular mat for my sweat filled classes in general, including barre and sculpt

This mat is simply amazing in its grip, wet or dry. Having said that, it’s not the “softest” mat and the edges are “sharp.” The cork has a bit of grainy texture to it that you do feel. If you’re doing a non-flow class where a lot of time is spent on your back on the mat I would probably use a different mat and a mat towel
