Can a ZIZZO Liberte Beat a Road, Mountain, and Gravel Bike Up Mt. Diablo

I am looking for a bike to use for my commute to work, which is ~2.5 miles from my home. I already have a regular full sized bike that I love and does everything I need it to do. However, I work as a nurse and don’t trust leaving it locked up outside for my 12 hour shifts. Our break room is pretty small so bringing a full size bike inside isn’t realistic. I was searching for something compact I could take and store inside when I came across folding bikes, which I had no idea existed a week ago. So, my knowledge of them is very minimal. 

I understand if you want a good quality bike you have to spend the money for it. However, given that I already have a bike for general use, I feel like it’s not worth it to spend a bunch of money on a second bike I’d only be using for getting to and from work. 

I have seen price ranges from $250 all the way up to a few thousand dollars, so I’m totally lost here. Ideally, I’d like to find something &lt;$500. Does anyone have recommendations for a ~not the best, but gets the job done~ cheap folding bike? Or are they only worth it if they are high quality and you make an investment? TIA

Which is preferable? I live in Pittsburgh. I just started a new job and my commute is most doable by bike and bus.  I used the bike rack on the bus on Thursday and Friday. Most of the bus drivers were nice enough about it, one was annoyed. Is it better/easier to just bring a folding bike onto the bus? Or should I just keep using the bike rack?

Hi all! Newish biker (and completely new to folding bikes) seeking your opinions here. I just moved to a new city and am looking into getting a folding bike for short commute/running errands. My dad is really into biking, so I’d also like something where we can occasionally do a bike ride together when I visit (not more than every other month and not exceeding 10-20 miles on mostly paved trails) 

My biking experience is pretty limited and I don’t have a ton of experience with biking in the city so I’ve been looking at a folding bikes for something that’s small and easy to handle, and also portable. 

I’m currently debating between the zizzo liberté and tern link a7. Does anyone have any recommendations on which might be better for someone new to folding bikes (and bikes overall)?
