 After viewing the product description and reading countless reviews I decided on the ZVOX 670. My new Vizio 50" TV has its legs on the corners rather than being supported by a middle stand so I had to be careful to get a size that would fit between the legs. The 36" 670 fit with about 1/4 inch to spare! The ZVOX has multiple ports to support other devices and an output port for a separate sub-woofer if desired. The sub-woofers that come with the unit are great but hooking it up to a stand alone sub provides amazing bass

 I had to turn down the bass settings from a +3 to a -3 so you get the picture. I really like the sound from this unit for TV and for music. The bluetooth setup was flawless. The mumbled voices on my 'problem' channels was corrected even without the ACCUVOICE feature

1 system, on several channels of my U-Verse service, the voices would be muffled and needed a higher volume level to understand the voices. WGN is the worst for this. It was also the same on my previous Time Warner subscription. I researched sound bars for several months and actually had never heard of ZVOX until quite recently

Updated...bluetooth failed

UPDATE: I've had this thing for about a week now, and I'm starting to be able to look passed the occasional buzzing and the poor Bluetooth performance, mainly because it honestly does sound really good most of the time. I tried connecting to it from my laptop instead of my phone via bluetooth and the connection was better (still not as reliable as I would like). So I decided to keep it. If ZVOX address the reliability issues with this product, it'll be a solid 5 stars in my mind

- The bass response is excellent for movies. Nice powerful THUMP that you can hear with your feet on the ground! (But not so good with music)

- I found the auto-leveling feature to do more harm than good. It muffles the sound noticeably. Turning it off "opens up" the sound, if that makes any sense.

UPDATE: within about 6 months of use, the sound base cannot play anything after 45 minutes without buzzing loudly and the actual audio gets very muted. It's SO bad that I often choose to revert back to my TV speakers, which were always pathetic, but at least they don't BUZZ!! Regretting my purchase now.

Don’t misunderstand the four-star rating. I love my ZVOX Sound Base 670 in two important ways:

I use a Harmony Touch for remote control of my entertainment system but so far have not found a way to “teach” the Harmony to do all the tricks that the 670 does. So once again remotes are creeping back onto my lamp table! The ZVOX 670s sheets on “Adjustment Options” and TV remote training and dealing with “Learn Buttons” makes me forget what I wanted to do!

1. The 670 sound output is crystal clear and very audible for both talk and music. It has brought my love of classical Spanish guitar back from high end headphones to my living room!

 When I received the item the box seemed like it had been re-taped. When I opened it I noticed that on the bottom of the ZVOX there were two strips where the laminate had been scraped off. These are about 1/2 inch by 4 inches. You can see the particle board (they call it wood) under the scraped off sections

 - Blocking the front of the TV. The sound bar sat in front of the TV and blocked the power light and part of the IR receiver.  So the speaker works great so far.  The reason for 4 stars is related to Amazon

 I am honestly very disappointed in Amazon for selling this obviously used item as new. If it wasn't so large I would send it back in a heartbeat.  The sound right away was a improvement over the Yamaha YAS101 I had. So that is good. I went through the settings and found sound and voice is best while not using the sound leveling function. For voice high was boosted to top, 2 bass at 2

 Another thing that would be good is if the wi fi had an output function. . Those would have been worth a perfect Five star. Will see if it lasts as long as my Yamaha which after eight years is still working fine and now with my other TV

 I like to be able to check at a glance that the functions have not been changed by my wife or cat, instead having to go through functions to check.I like the read out set up disappearing. Another thing that would be good is if the wi fi had an output function. 

 Maybe they are just hiding bad writing, or trying to make a music video. Anyway I looked at sound clarifying sound bars and Zvox seemed to be the one that popped up the most. I looked at their sound bars but they were too tall to place in front of my TV. The photos show them laying flat but the sound is meant to go forward not bounce of ceiling

Update: Received the replacement and the Bluetooth works fairly well. Works to 30 feet or so which is better than advertised. But now that we have music playing distortion is very noticeable at moderate volume unlike the Sonos which simply doesn't distort. Looking at the Sony HTST solutions although they are much more expensive

The ZVOX 670 sounds great! But so does the ZVOX 580 which is much less expensive. The newer 670 has Bluetooth and streams music for I phones and I pads..

 The one I received maybe defective and I am returning it as such. Another reviewer mentioned connecting is good WITHIN 5 feet, which leads me to believe the range maybe limited due to design or poor quality control.

For one, this is ludicrous and raises more than a few red flags, for two we actually tried this nonsense step-by-step and got nowhere

Decent unit, but serious bluetooth issues

 It has a button on the remote for surround sound, but I only give it three stars for surround sound. There was almost no sound that reached the left and right sides. The frontal sound was great and filled the whole front of the room, but it was just unable to give me sound to my side or rear. Base sound was strong

 I actually I had to turn it down. It’s a ittle pricey, but if you don’t already have a good stereo set up, I recommend the system, for the accuvoice. If anyone can figure out how to get the sound to the side and rear, I would appreciate the information.

 Unit has plenty of adjustment on the remote to balance the sound to our viewing room (bass was boomy, lowered to a minus 1 and detail of entire sound stage increased nicely). I tried the Accuvoice setting, and it was so-so. I'll need to give it an evening or three to determine full usefullness.  All in all, I am initially pleased

 After a few weeks, I will update this review to see how this unit is to live with!  Did not take a few weeks: less than 24 hours later, I'm leaning towards returning the Soundbase. Why? Sound is better than decent, but there is something weird with the pairing of the remote, the unit clearing settings on its own ( when on!) and it shutting itself off (again when on). So far, a pretty decent component?  NO!

I have an older Sony Bravia TV and obtain local TV via an HD antenna. The optical out port on the TV sent audio to the ZVOX and it worked great - we especially appreciate how well the Accuvoice feature works. However, when I tried to watch TV generated by signals coming through my HDMI connected Roku, the TV was unable to push audio out to the ZVOX. So, in order to use my ROKU and BluRay, I had to purchase an HDMI optical splitter and connect my peripheral devices to the splitter
