 literally everything. The OS on the Fire tablet is clunky in comparison. Even the virtual keyboard doesn't work as well for me.  Oh, and with the Alexa enabled on the Fire, when I use it in the same room as an Echo (which is everywhere in my house), they don't work together very well

**Amazon Fire HD Kids 8**. Tailor made, but my reservation is that the hardware is extremely slow. 1.5GB RAM is just atrocious

 So she bought me an Amazon Fire HD 8 2021 for Christmas in the hopes that it would fix the issues I was having with my 2017 model. That brings me to the real point of this review. Having used this tablet for almost a year now I can say again that this is an excellent tablet for the price. I only have a few complaints that I was hoping Amazon had fixed since the 2017 model

 3) The battery life is about the same as my 2017 which was also very disappointing. On a full charge I can usually get about 4-5 hours of solid use before it's almost dead (that was brand new), about 8-10 hours of intermittent use, and if left on but inactive (on standby) you can get up to 3 days on a full charge before it dies. However I will also say that those numbers have not decreased much, if any, over the past 8 months of use. So at least the battery life seems to be fairly consistent

 So it definitely served its purpose. Last year my wife was tired of me always complaining about how slow it had gotten and how limited it was on being able to keep up with newer apps. So she bought me an Amazon Fire HD 8 2021 for Christmas in the hopes that it would fix the issues I was having with my 2017 model. That brings me to the real point of this review

Overall an excellent product for the price!

 It has lots of features for use as a tablet beyond just reading that allow it to compete with Samsung Tab and iPad. DOWNs: The battery does not seem to last as long in the new version. This may help make it lighter, but for moderate use, you will need to charge daily (before, my wife plugged in the old one every few days). Ad-supported price

. It'S fast and responsive.. It works great across apps that supported it, and it generally makes the iPad feel like much more than just a consumption device

 I felt less rude using it in meetings than my phone or my laptop, and I was less bothered by the many limitations on iOS 12, because the mini is so obviously a secondary, computer. And iOS devices have been getting increasingly complicated and expensive lately and reviewing them. Often feels like I have to figure out if they're worth the huge cost premium. Reviewing the mini, on the other hand, has been really fun because it's obviously worth $ 399

. I didn't encounter any slowdowns or lags, as I edited photos in Lightroom, played a few games and tried a couple AR demos.. The mini runs the same iOS 12 as other iPads, which means you can multitask on a mini which is hilarious on a screen

 If you are the sort of person who wants a powerful small tablet, the new iPad mini is the best choice. Full stop.. I mean it's basically the only choice

The Pencil is a little too long, proportionately, for the iPad mini. Small but powerful

 I've spent hours trying to Google and reset the Ipad to factory setting but the MDM lock won't budge. It seems like this "Team of Professionals" overlooked this detail. I am very disappointed in this product, and I will not be buying anymore "Renewed" products from Amazon. I will be contacting Amazon either for a refund or a new, fully inspected, IPad

Scratches/ Dents and Retail Setting Lock

 The iPad itself was in excellent condition with only a few mild surface scratches towards the border, that you really have to look to see - nothing that's even visible when the screen is on.  Aside from that, you'd never know that this was a refurb.  The shipping was prompt (actually arrived a day before it was scheduled - which actually was my wife's birthday!), the iPad was very well packed. No regrets at all with this purchase!

Very good iPad!

Fits very nicely in my hand like an oversized kindle and I enjoyed reading a library ebook on the kindle app with the font size blown up.  Great for having in a bag when I’m going around town on errands and can hook up on a WiFi to browse the web or email.   Much better for extended use than an iPhone.  Should be great for travel since it is smaller than the regular iPad
