AOC 24G2 vs LG 29UM68-P

I went with the Asus vp249qgr over the AOC 24G2 in the end to avoid the horrible 'gamer' aesthetics. May last monitor lasted me 11 years and I don't want to be living with that red thing.

Good resolution. Tilts up, down, and side to side which is nice. My only complaint is that you can’t adjust the brightness or contrast (or much of anything else, picture-wise) without a 3rd party app. Ok for gaming, easy to see in dark areas like caves or at night in-game, but the contrast is so high that dark colors look almost black and lose definition in bright, daytime conditions (also in-game)

Absolutely love this monitor. Perfect size. Never going back to 16:9. Ultrawide is the way to go! Especially for productivity

Within days I had fallen in love with it. I'm using the DP connection to get 75Hz and an amd gpu to utilize freesync and once I started gaming it all made sense fairly quickly. This thing is dirt cheap and lightning fast, I'm not Chuck Norris on CS:Go I don't need an absurd refresh rate or response time on the bleeding edge of technology, I mostly do research for work, watch youtube and play Warframe. The settings for font clarity and refresh rates really only took 5 minutes to figure out and I was rolling

I messed with the contrast, brightness, and colors for hours trying to find good settings and I just couldn't find anything that wasn't either washed out, or vibrant but dark and hard to see. Also it really bothered me that the viewing angles on this monitor are absolutely horrible. After spending about 3 hours playing various games and looking at several test images, I couldn't get it to a comfortable balance. It's about then that I noticed a small dead pixel on the right side of the screen

Why? Because this isn't a widely accepted or produced format. Not every program is designed for this aspect,nor is every show or movie you will watch. However.
