It’s about as good as you might be able to expect from this particular product, but you’re not going to reach new levels of bass detail nirvana. Mids, whether by virtue of their recession or otherwise, have some gloss to them, meaning that fine details are hard to perceive and don’t jump out much.

For people who aren’t white teenage suburbanite memelords, Beats has long shed their reputation for poor sound quality. That said, their releases can still waver between “good” and “not completely terrible” — with the Solo Pro perhaps being the best-sounding product they’ve released (comfort issues aside), and their recent Studio Buds perhaps being one of their worst in some time.

Recently, on the heels of Daddy Apple releasing the AirPods 3, Beets By Schrute comes out with the Beats Fit Pro. They caught my eye for two reasons — one, they use the same H1 chip as the AirPods Pro, meaning that they should have the same adaptive EQ, ANC, smart switching/pairing features, and other niceties that the APP have. And two, the integrated wingtip in a form factor that’s much less Hugh Mungus than the Powerbeats Pro.

So I pre-ordered a pair, keeping my expectations moderate, but nevertheless excited to see what ol’ Schrute Farms could put together. Here are my impressions.

# Build and Accessories

The main body of each bud is made of a hard plastic material, and the back plate that morphs into the wing is made of a soft-touch rubber. They feel sturdy, if not premium, and I don’t have any concerns about weak points or long term durability.

The case is a smooth-touch plastic clamshell. The lid has a nifty spring actuation that causes it to open all the way if you just crack it a little bit, but it stays closed very securely. Nothing about the build screams luxe, but it’s plenty good for what it needs to do.

Included accessories are simple — three tip sizes and a short charging cable. I personally have tried both the stock tips and the CP360 and find them both fine, though the softer material of the CP360 is just a bit more comfortable.

# Comfort and Fit

I had my concerns about the integrated wingtip, and I’ll say this: if you have very small ears, you’re probably going to want to give these a pass. My wife’s ears, for instance, are not big enough to tuck the wing tip into her *cymba concha*, which sort of ruins the point of the wing to begin with. But if you have medium sized ears and up, they should fit fine.

I don’t exactly adore the wing tip, but it doesn’t bother me much. It helps a lot with stability and reducing microphonics/occlusion when exercising, which is probably appropriate given what these are made for. For all-day wear, they do start to produce some irritation at the wingtip after a few hours, though it fades fairly quickly after removing, and this is extremely YMMV based on your ear size and shape. My ears are slightly below average in size, and the bigger your ears, the less you’ll notice.

# Sound Quality

**Tones and I**

Tonally, I would classify these as “warm V-shaped.” There’s an above-neutral lift to the bass, especially in the mid-bass region, and a slight recession to mid frequencies, female vocals in particular. Then the treble returns with some sparkle, though to my ears it’s below the level of the bass, which is what makes it sound warm overall.

Bass extension is formidable and pleasant. It’s fully audible and tactile to 30hz, though it rolls off quickly and dies at about 24hz. Of course, this could just be limits of my hearing, but the bottom line is that you won’t want for extension here.

Bass quantity is generally tastefully done, though there are times that the mid bass lift can feel intrusive. I wouldn’t say muddy, because these really do not sound muddy, but sometimes when listening to acoustic songs, I don’t need to hear the lower harmonics of guitars and drums so readily. And bass guitars are often more noticeable than I would find ideal. Of course, this is often a boon for rock, pop, and electronic music, but there’s no mistaking the Beets DNA in these.

Mids take a slight back seat here, so if you like your vocals to be up front, these won’t be right for you. I do appreciate that the lack of upper-mid shout makes them an easy listen — the Moondrop / Tanchjim / Etymotic ever-pervasive upper-mid lift that classifies a lot of modern IEMs makes me wince consistency as I listen to music, and so this is a very nice vacation from that. If you do like shouty signatures, though, be aware that these won’t do it for you.

Lower/mid treble is elevated above the mids, but never louder than the bass. Snare drums in particular seem to benefit a lot from the signature. There isn’t a whole ton of upper-treble extension, though my older ears can’t hear much above 15.5k anyway, so I’m never particularly bothered by a lack of extreme extension. At the very least, they don’t outright die above the mid treble, but it’s hard to gauge beyond that.

**Textures and Techs**

I’ve always had a hard time with describing this, so instead of pretending I know what I’m talking about, I will give you what I can say for certain.

I’m not 100% sure that anyone in the world knows what they’re talking about when they mention “dynamics,” or at the very least I have no idea what they’re talking about, so I’m not even gonna try. But I will say that the “middle-resolution” vibe I get from the frequency bands is at least cohesive.

I classify the ANC as “good.” It’s just a hair behind the AirPods Pro, with the discrepancy being entirely in higher-register sounds. The ANC is plenty for everyday situations, but don’t expect it to keep up with extremely noisy environments. If a 0 is nothing at all and a 10 is Etymotics with Foams under a pair of WH-1000XM4, I’d classify the isolation afforded by these with ANC On as a 5, which is pretty good.

One gripe...THEY'RE NOT IEMS, THEY'RE STANDARD EARBUDS! AAA! But anyways I'm just a nitpicky person with really bad OCD. Either way, good review.

Speaking of Powerbeats Pro, I think they are perfect for their purpose. The hooks can be formed in almost any shape, so you are really unlucky if they don’t fit you. Secondly, their lack of isolation is a feature I appreciate very much. I think I have been running 1500 km with the Powerbeats Pro, and it is nice to be able to hear traffic. I have only tried to run with 2 headphones with transparency mode and wind noisy made them both almost useless during runs

I'm tempted to just get the Fit Pro now but am waiting to see if the Grell TWS might provide better audio and "good enough" convenience.

I just purchased Airpods Pro beforing reading about Beats Fit Pro, since I am within my return window on the Airpods Pro I thought I would buy the beats fit pro and return the lesser after a couple days of evaluation.  Well it only take a day and there was for me a clear winner.  But before I get to which one I returned.  Let me explain the differences as I see them, please keep in mind some of these differences are subjective.

1. Price -Airpods Pro on Amazon $189, Beats Fit Pro everywhere $199

2. Chipset - both use the Apple H1 chipset

3. Speakers - I could not find the brand or specs of the speakers for either on the web.

4. Microphones - Same as above

5. Charger -Airpods Pro Wired or wireless lightning cable or Qi certified charging mat.,Beats Fit Pro USBC

If your an athlete/runner you may absolutely need the ear wings.

Well it only take a day and there was for me a clear winner.  But before I get to which one I returned.  Let me explain the differences as I see them, please keep in mind some of these differences are subjective.</p>

I don’t understand all the reviews on them - the ANC is just not good! They are nowhere close to the AirPods Pro’s or the Sony WF-1000XM4. Transparency mode is also a step down. Purchased them yesterday to test but will be returning. Plus, the button location is not great - very easy to activate accidentally when adjusting the in your ear.

Beats Fit Pro: Not just "Good for Beats," but a genuinely good TWS IEM (Plus comparisons to AirPods Pro, WF-XM4, others)

  Pros: - Noise cancellation is pretty solid even in a loud gym. - Overall sound and base is also a lot better than I would have expected compared to the older beats. - Stay in the ear pretty nicely during cardio or frequent movements. - Battery appears to be pretty solid with the charging case

 It does come with the cord at least but without the right base, the cord is pointless! - As other reviews have said, the case is pretty terrible as it comes to durability and feel. It feels so flimsy that you could easily snap it off or if it’s dropped, it would break. - Unlike other brands wing tip in ear headphones (Bose), it doesn’t have different sizing so it may hurt your ears (fits perfectly for me though). The different buds don’t really matter if the wing tip hurts your ear

  Cons: - THEY MAKE YOU BUY A LIGHTNING CHARGING BASE!! Will admit, I didn’t look deep into that because I assumed it was the same as the AirPods and older beats. You cannot use the older Apple charging cords and you have to use Apples newer lighting chargers/cords because the older cords won’t fit into the charging case.  (Beyond 1.5-2 hours)  All in all, I do like the headphones because they fit my ear nicely and I like the noise cancellation/sound of them so I plan to keep them. I will say at full MSRP, I would probably look at other brands for in ear wing tipped and not get these though. (I know I just contradicted myself!) The reason I say that, is because there are probably better or more comfortable headphones for over $200 and I got these on sale for Prime Day at a big discount (~$150)

Good not great

These earbuds are pretty good.  +Great noise cancellation +Easy connecting to my PC or phone +Sound quality seems very good +They're very secure in your ear (too secure)  Biggest Problem: - They're not comfortable to wear! They hurt my ears enough that I'm constantly taking them out trying to manipulate them so they're less irritating but I always end up just using a speaker or another pair of headphones. The little silicon piece used to hold them in place puts too much pressure on that part of your ear and there's little you can do about it since they don't include any different sized pieces for it (I'm not even sure it's removable). You'll be spending way more time fidgeting with them trying to find a comfortable position for them than you should have to

Great Product if only they didn't hurt to wear

I’ve tried most myself or borrowed friends’… the best by far for running is the Beats Powerbeats Pro wireless with the hook over the ear… never need to be adjusted. Last forever on charge. They’re great!!

So I looked up the post which is 2 years old and still I can not decide what should I get.

1)I never used any sport headphones so its hard for me to decide wheter it should be wireless earbuds or the ones  like this ATH-SPORT10(I think this type with it around ear will make some pain in 1 hour) and this one will be not fitting well.

2)I have friend who is using Audio-Technika headphones for Djing and i tried them they are very good qualiy of sound but when running I can hear my steps very much.

 Please recommend any running headphones up to 200$

Guess you must be an Apple fanboy because those headphones are really terrible for the money and far from audiophile grade. I've demoed them and jeez they're bad.

Why do people think the competition for the Max is Sony’s XM4, and Bose NC700?

This doesn’t make sense to me. Those are consumer grade devices, and great for their price points. 

But if you look at them from an audiophile standpoint. Competing with headphones that easily are in the $700-1200 range, the Max are fairly priced. 

I’d venture to guess not many here know of the Drop THX Panda offering at $399, those are designed by audiophiles, for audiophiles, just they don’t have ANC

Similar audiophile grade headphones are easily more expensive than the Max. 

These aren’t designed for the average consumer. They’re designed for the person that is deeply ingrained into the Apple ecosystem, that wants integrated features that can compete with the sound quality of brands like Hifiman, Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser, Bowers and Wilkins, AKG, Mont Blanc, and Bang and Olufsen (I own some offerings from these brands)

If you look at it this way, you’d be able to see how the pricing compares for what you get. 

The XM4 and Bose are very good for their price points. I own the XM4, and for an audiophile, they’re not high on the list. But we’re ok with dropping $1k on a headphone. So $549 is very intriguing for people like us. 

I just don’t get why folks have to bash those of us who decide to purchase and like them.  It’s our money to spend, not yours.

I’ve seen a few posts today on various subs of people shitting on the OP for making the purchase.

Why do folks think the AirPods Max are designed to compete with the Sony XM4 or the Bose 700?

  Its just a shame that I can't wear them for more that an hour before they become uncomfortable.  The sound quality and battery life do not disappoint however I just can't get past the comfort issue.  Other people have have a different experience with them though.

The Beats by Dre Pro True Wireless Earbuds are great sounding, but not comfortable to wear for an extended period of time.  They sound great with good highs and deep rich bass.
