 I think the Mini-Grip really hits on both of those things. While it leans slightly more towards the "hard use" end of the pool, the Mini-Grip comes close to being a perfectly balanced EDC knife. If you're going to exceed the $50.00 range with one knife, I would recommend that it be this knife

 Super impressed. I guess what I'm saying is that even though fit and finish aren't perfect, you may be perfectly assured they'll make it right if you aren't happy. These people are serious about keeping customers, and I don't doubt this is part of that hefty initial price-tag.  Ease of Maintenance:  Another POTENTIAL problem area

 Put more plainly, it will hold a "utility edge" (can't shave with it but still quite useful) for a really, really long time. Easily a competitor to s30v.  Deployment Method: One-handed ambidextrous. Very old school, field-tested-and-approved thumb studs, both average in size and shape

 I won't wear this knife with suits or khaki pants because it will readily tear them up. Even my cargo shorts and jeans wear noticeably after clipping this knife quite a bit. You can cure this by working the clip and sanding the contact point, but from the factory, beware and guard your pants!  2. Discretion - not great here, either

Fantastic EDC but pocket shredder

 My pinkie is hanging off the back of the thing and so it doesn't really feel like its firmly in my hand. Came very sharp. As Far as the Axis lock goes I have a few knives by a Chinese maker that does it better in my opinion .(yes I know they stole it) Could just be that they fit my hand better

Wanted to love it

  The AXIS lock is very nice, and always feels secure with no movement of the blade. I've had frame and liner locked blades feel like they could move, especially if you opened the blade gently and did not get a firm *click* into place, and this is a very good solution with no drawbacks. I had never used one before this purchase, but it is the most quality locking mechanism I've ever felt and my favorite feature of the knife now.  The overall size is exactly what I wanted

 The grip also feels solid and quality, although some pictures seem "plasticy" in appearance. In my focused attempts at twisting or deforming it did not flex or yield in any way. It looks and feels like a quality piece of functional hardware. No frills or decorations, but strong and useful construction

 I work in an industrial plant and wanted a quality knife that I wouldn't be afraid to use when I need it. I have used it for shaving debris off of rollers, cutting various sized air hoses, plastic tie wraps, small cables, gasket materials, etc..

Great EDC choice

 Sometimes it's smooth sometimes its a bit rough. The blade shape is great, the thumb studs are okay although I prefer holes over studs, as far as studs go they are very functional. My main problem with the knife is the distance between the thumb ramp area on the spine and the finger choil. When I hold the knife I keep wanting to put my index finger on the base of the blade because the finger choil area on the handle is too low on the knife relative to the thumb ramp

It's alright. The materials and quality construction/fit and finish prompt me to give it four stars. If construction wasn't so great and all I had was the design to base my review on I would give it three stars.  The knife came fairly sharp, it shaves hair but can't whittle hair in the air

Solid knife

 My mini grip didn't come super hair shaving sharp out of the box like all my Spyderco knives but it was still better than my kershaw / cold steel knives brand new.  Honestly my only main gripe is how the knife feels in hand. It's not bad, but not comfortable for me. Keep in my mind this is just my opinion

 Their warranty is by far the best I've dealt with in a long time, no questions asked regarding my issue. They're also taking care of me and are sending out a free deep carry pocket clip on top of it (something anyone with a benchmade can request, there's a few other sweet models to choose from). With my main problem taken cared of and putting the knife through it's paces over the weekend I can safely say I love the thing already. The axis lock is nice when needing one handed operation

 I should note that the 2 Sanremu's are the same size as the Benchmade. Being a bigger guy, I need something with a little more heft.  I'm actually very disappointed right now. I really wanted to like the Benchmade, but when it seems like it's of lesser quality (build/tolerance, not blade steel quality) than the other 2, I can't do anything with it, other than return it and buy something else

 I've collected knives for nearly 40 years, and honestly can't believe the lack of quality in this knife. After seeing many posts in blade forums and Facebook groups, it seems that sadly, I'm not alone. Many others I've spoken with have gotten sub-par quality Griptillians. I can understand getting lesser quality when you buy the lower end knives from any manufacturer, but this is just unacceptable

Not much I can add to what others have said. Great size, durable and SHARP. The 154CM steel holds an edge for a good long time. Haven't had to try to resharpen yet so I can't say how that will go

  The axis lock isn't the strongest out there but I like how you can flick it open like a normal folder or just pull on the release and swing it open.  The one negative that I have with it is the price. Benchmade still uses 154cm on this model which is a decent steel but I feel as if they should offer a higher grade steel in 2016.

This is definitely a high quality pocket knife - great blade steel, and great handle material. The weight and balance is perfect for me and I had no problem getting it to open smoothly with one hand after a short break-in period (about a week opening it off and on a few minutes a day). Made in USA, what better can you ask for at this price range?

 And i just heard this little metal ting go flying and hit the window and i'm looking around i'm like what the hell was that and then i go and reach down on my side and my knife has fallen inside of my pocket. Oh my god, crap now. I got ta go and you know, buy a new buy new clip so after contacting hoag's warranty - and this is another thing too - hogue has some of the strictest warranty on their knives and they're, not even super expensive knives like they don't make super crazy high-end knives. But they have an extremely strict warranty on them

 Some people might be familiar with that name for firearms and grips and holsters, and you know a lot of collaborations with a lot of other uh firearm brands, which is pretty freaking cool. I don't own any firearms, unfortunately, yet um, but eventually i'll, probably end up taking a look at some of the stuff that hogue makes. I do enjoy this knife, but i think for what it is. It was a little pricey

Hey guys, i wanted to share my opinion on the hogue x1 microflip. This knife comes in at 135.96. It is well was on blade, hq, that's where i purchased it from, but it's not available anymore, and i doubt it's ever gon na come back

 I wish it was a little bit cheaper. Then i'd probably recommend it. I wish the this cutout here was a little bit further back, which i could take care of myself eventually, if i'm not too lazy, but the thing is when you purchase a knife, especially if it's like over a hundred dollars. I really don't think you should be having to do too many modifications within the first couple years of owning it

 It'S not! Oh, my god, but it's! You know what it's a good little grind here and CPM 154 in case I already didn't mention. That is a good to go sort of steel. It'S not the absolute upper echelon, but 430 bucks. It doesn't necessarily need to

 The next thing, the price on this guy seems actually pretty fair word a hundred and thirty bucks here um, and that gives you a bunch of different options. You can get like one cliff blade, etc there. There were a bunch of possibilities here, a bunch of different colors, but I think it's an absolutely fine price point for this. None of the construction and whatnot all seems pretty much in line for all of that and that that's a great thing

 That'S going to be pressing against your hand as you flip this knife open, and so I don't really I'm not a big fan it almost. It looks like the backspace. It was just installed wrong. Um I don't like

 This is aus am a knife. That'S rock and CPM 154 very functional steel. It looks to be very durable. There'S no blade play up down left or right, which is always something I'm a little bit concerned with with a setup like this, but no blade play on this guy

m. coming in at eight point three inches overall? How about up against the another Hogue? This is the Doug Ritter, Hogue RSK, mk1, g2 or bench main group zillion. However, you want to look at that coming in at about 8 inches and last but not least, a much more comparable knife in terms of size. The spider code Delica Spyderco delica, coming in at 7 inches overall, so you can see they're, not a very big knife

 This knife was provided to me by the pastor own group, I'm involved in so by extension, the manufacturer as usual I'll try not to let that affect my review. It usually doesn't I'll. Give you guys an example here of the action before I weigh it. I'M go ahead and get my scale on there, so this thing has an interesting deployment

 You know it's not quite the same thing that I feel with an axis bar. It'S not quite the same thing that I feel with the manage to both of these knives. There detents or you know, lack of a detent is actually it's just friction created by either this axis bar riding up against the polished and kind of rounded tang of the blank blade, or in this case, on the manage it's the ball bearing riding against or creating Excess friction on the manage blade at a certain point. It'S kind of that idea, but it's not exactly the same thing

Hogue X1 Microflip - Overview and Review

 This is just a piece of folded steel here. It does work. It gets the job done. You know, easy in and out of the pocket

 But back to this flipper here, because you do have a bit of a detent here, so similar to a trigger in like a handgun or a rifle where you have the sear surface where you take up the slack of the trigger, you hit like a wall typically, and then you pull through. This flipper mechanism here is very similar, so you do have a detent. You preload by pushing on the tab, and then when you overcome that detent, the blade just fires out. Really cool mechanism here

 So this one here, 3 ounces with the quality construction it's made from here is really nice. Some of the other things here we'll talk about is this is 100% made in the USA, which is really nice. They use a really nice steel here. This is a CPM 154, Rockwell hardness of about 58 here

 The handles here are from aluminum. Everything is machined. It's a beautiful looking knife. Just a great, great design here
