 Well made; the plastic bits don't bother me as long as they're sturdy.  Minuses. There's a bit of a trick to getting all the coffee out of this, at least if you use a lot of grounds as I do. I was finding that, when I thought I'd emptied the pot, and opened it up clean it, there was still a lot of coffee left

 Does an excellent job of keeping any remaining coffee warm until you're ready to drink it, at least assuming you're going to be finished in not much longer than an hour. Easy to clean. Well made; the plastic bits don't bother me as long as they're sturdy.  Minuses

 I think some of the liquid gets stuck under the grounds and is partially blocked, but by repeating the full pouring motion several times you eventually get most of it.  And they really ought to change that "four 6 oz cups" description. Even the 17 oz is pushing it. This is good for about one large mug full, and a significant fraction of another

  This press has been working excellently all that time. Very simple to operate (although remember to line up the arrow with the spout when you're ready to pour). After 9 months.  Slightly quirky but good.

 The outside of the pot gets pretty warm after awhile, but it will keep the coffee hot 2-3 hours if I cover the lid to prevent so much heat from escaping. My solution to the lid issue was to buy a heat-resistant piece of silicone like a pot holder or trivet mat or coaster, trim it down to the right size, and cut a hole in the middle for the plunger. I got some like this:BOBILIFE-Sunflower Silicone Trivets - Multi-purpose Silicone Pot Holders, Spoon Rest and Kitchen Table Mat - Insulated, Flexible, Durable, Non Slip Hot Pads and Coasters ( Pack of 2 Pieces) (Green) . I really wish the lid was insulated, but whenever I've looked at reviews for the presses that do have insulated lids it looks like a lot of people have problems with the vacuum seal on the lid coming apart and getting liquid inside

I've had this press in the 34 oz. size since 2013 and use it daily. None of the parts have broken, the coffee tastes great, and the filter keeps all of the grounds out. I love the look and sturdiness. We’re RVing this summer and this French press fits right in. Stores neatly on countertop and is easy to clean.

 The insulated layer doesn't let the steel get too hot to touch, tho.  My only complaint is I wish the mesh filter was not plastic, or maybe it's silicone, can't tell. The glass carafes do not have a plastic/silicon mesh filter, but I think this helps ensure the vacuum seal on this model.  I plan to order the larger 8 cup for visitors, as this 4 cup one is perfect for my large morning dose of joe, but might not be sufficient for when guests are here

 Sooner or later you will crack or break the glass. I got tired of spending $20 or more on carafes and when I complained on Facebook, a friend suggested I buy this stainless steel press.  Well, the price is what made me have to think about it.

Why Didn't I Buy This Sooner??

 You're gonna do one bottom scoop for every four ounces of water. Once your water has boiled, you simply remove it from the heating source and allow it to sit for about 20 seconds. The perfect temperature of water is 195 to 205 degrees Fahrenheit which is just below boiling point. You pour your hot water over the grinds, you stir with a wooden or plastic spoon, place your lid on, and you brew for about three to four minutes

 It comes in a variety of sizes as you see for anyone's needs. French Press is also an environmentally safe way to brew coffee. There's very minimal waste created from brewing in a French press since no paper filters or plastic cups are required. Just taste, no waste

 based on your strength preference. for stronger coffee, it is better to allow it to brew longer. Adding more coffee grinds could make the coffee taste a little bit bitter. Once you're done brewing, you simply press down or and enjoy

Size isn't everything. Case in point, the Veken French Press carved out a place for itself as a miniaturized version of a classic press design. Specifically, the Veken is a 12-ounce, single-serving unit comprised of a glass carafe cradled in a stainless steel frame with a lid/plunger assembly to match. The unit is dishwasher safe, includes a pair of extra filter screens, and is quite affordable. 
Admittedly, we were drawn to the Veken as it appeals to our minimalist instincts and ritualized daily coffee quaffing. However, this model's filtration isn't as complete as we have observed in other presses in the group. It produces a somewhat gritty brew, especially if you overload it with grounds or rush the plunger. The metal frame also provides gaps where residue can build up, so it will likely need to be removed from time to time for a thorough cleaning. That said, if you're a one-cup-a-day kind of java drinker, this unit is worth a gander.

Long term review of the Veken french press coffee maker

After breaking yet another glass coffeemaker carafe I decided to go full time to a french press. Of course, the one I already owned was glass, so I decided to upgrade to a metal press. I wanted one that would hold the heat because my biggest issue with french presses in general is that after the first pour, subsequent cups have cooled down too much.  After much shopping, I decided on this one which, by the way, cost the same as replacing the carafe for my fancy drip coffeemaker

 Then I went home and made my coffee. Gave it the full 12 minutes. Oh goodness me, bliss! I don't know if I will always be able to afford custom-ground premium coffee, but I will get it whenever I can, properly ground for the french press. Went from a darn good cup of coffee to a great cup of coffee

 I'm pretty frugal and cramped for space so the idea of investing in yet another appliance, a coffee grinder, was not appealing. But a couple of days ago I went to one of our local roasters, bought a bag of Ugandan Bugishu (I like African coffees but this one was new to me) and had them do a proper medium-coarse grind for me. Then I went home and made my coffee. Gave it the full 12 minutes

 I want to say it was a hair under thirty dollars and this thing for the three pack I think was like 13 or so. It was pretty good size and this thing was about 19. Arrived pretty quickly but once again you get all these components, works really well and I'm happy with it. Been using it for several weeks now and gone through a can and a half of these and happy with it

 I should check. the ingredients does not contain Hawaiian grown coffee. I don't know, don't know, don't care. Actually tastes really good so I am happy with it
