Alright guys what's going on, so we got another video today now we're looking at a bokor today - and this is the boker kwaiken, and this is the new titanium version now this is relatively new, hasn't been on the market very long. There is a few videos on YouTube about it, so I'm not the first and I wanted to get it right when they came out, but it happened to come out right during the holidays, and I had already been strapped for cash. You know with presents and stuff, and I bought a couple. Knifes waited and I got one just recently

 I got it off the secondary market. I couldn't find one in stock anymore, a knife Center and blades you're out of them. So well the unique thing about this model of the quakin is it's a flipper and it's got titanium scales and a titanium back spacer. So that's pretty awesome the clips a little different

 It gives a knife a better feel. In my opinion, the flipper works just fine and I just got to love that blade shape and I wish I had my original quake in to compare it, but I sold it to fellow youtuber so and I remember the blade being a little different. I could be wrong and some tell me if they've got both. I don't remember this swedge right here being there

 So all right guys! These are my initial impressions of the boker kwaiken, flipper and titanium cool knife. Definitely for the money fit and finish on this knife is really really nice for the price point I mean you can tell that Lucas Burnley definitely had a lot to do with this knife, because it's got a really. I mean the fitnah finish is really nice and it was on the original quakin as well, but even better on this one. So let's definitely worth the upgrade to get the you know the flipper built in already and having the titanium scales

Boker Plus Kwaiken Titanium Flipper-First Impressions

  Seriously go easy if you try this. One other thing to know and if you don't take anything else away from this review this should be it : THERE ARE LOTS OF UNIMAGINABLY SMALL BALL BEARINGS IN THE PIVOT and they will scatter and practically evaporate before your very eyes if you take the knife apart too far. I'm exaggerating but only ever so slightly. DO NOT take the knife pivot all the way apart

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  Flippers OFTEN need to be tuned to work as intended.

 It'S some quite smooth and overall economics are about the same, but it doesn't have the kind of coil like here, because this you know this has a cutout for your finger and I kind of like this grip a bit better, because I rest my thumb. I'M a thumb disc in my index goes in here, so I get a much more secure grip. That'S not to say you know it's! It'S not uncomfortable or insecure, but um does feel a bit different. So now, because this version has titanium handle slabs, it is heavier substantially noma, not substantial, but it's noticeably heavier when you hold it in your hand - and I think also because it feels heavy because it's of its slim profile well, but it's weighty, so it's I can In fact, a very dense knife to hold in your hand - and it's not you - know necessarily a bad thing - it's not to the point where it's heavy to the point where it's um not manageable, but it is a little heavier than the micarta version

 This is his interpretation of the Japanese quakin, which is a derivative derivative of the Japanese word kaiken, which was a very short dagger, that samurai of the Bushido age carried for self-defence because um, you know, obviously the katana and even the shorter intermediate wakizashi was too long To use indoors, this would be ideal, for you know if you were, you know indoors and you needed a self-defense weapon so that yeah that's. This is kind of his interpretation of that and it's really cool. You know you got that. I guess it's like a drop-point blade, but it's slightly modified to be much more

 Clip and of course this is a flipper - only no thumb disk on this and, as you can see, the kind of sharks been looking flipper tab there. This has been carried, so you can see. There'S some rub marks, especially here bumping up against my phone, not a big deal. I might even stone wash these scales just for fun

Bad Ash! Well worth the hundred bucks! I have this Ti version and the Cf version (much lighter) and cary one everyday. Smooth as silk bearings, quality fit and finish, beautiful design. I love knives, but not enough to spend a week to a months pay on one (at least not yet). This, by far, is my nicest factory made knife

 I think the inclusion of both stainless steel liners and full titanium handle scales is a bit overkill and adds unnecessary weight. 

 You would think that the relatively thin titanium scales would actually shave weight off the Kwaiken, but it’s over an ounce heavier than it’s non-flipper counterpart. Personally, that relegates the Kwaiken Flipper more towards the collectible category, and away from being a true EDC. Regardless, I am sure plenty of guys will enjoy carrying this knife, and there is nothing wrong with that. 

The compact handle of the Kwaiken flipper is built like a little titanium tank. Thick full steel liners are under generous 3-d machined pieces of titanium, all supported by a solid titanium backspacer. Construction is simple and solid.

 I don't foresee any lockup issues with this knife being that it's steel, it's not gon na wear out quickly. It'S not really gon na be sticky. You shouldn't have an issue with stick or anything so no problems there, Oh internal, stop, pin, which is cool. I like that, so it has the milled out piece in the blade tang and the stop pin is internal

 It has a nice straight cut. Tang looks like a good angle. I don't foresee any lockup issues with this knife being that it's steel, it's not gon na wear out quickly. It'S not really gon na be sticky

 When you open it up, you know it's all. The heft is in the handle here. That'S a law to steal a lot of metal rather right there, but for the money I mean this is just a superb piece. The fit and finish is outstanding

 One day, I forgot to do this. The next morning I woke up went to grab this knife for work and found rust. Not rust you can wipe off either, straight up deep rust. I don't know if it's a bad run, isolated incident or what but the customer service didn't make it any better

Materials, fit and finish and feel in hand are all better on the civivi for almost half the price. Lock up and action on the civivi is just as good feeling as the benchmade but the BM does have the axis lock if that means a lot to you. The quality of the civivi is shocking for the price.

 It’s no super steel but is ideal for most of my needs; definitely not a junk steel. Nothing about this knife feels cheap. Blade is centered, bevels are even, edge came very sharp. Very good value for the money

 I wanted a user that I would not feel bad when it got scratched up. The size is perfect for my needs, not too big or small. The blade shape is convenient for most of my EDC needs. Opening and closing are maybe a little too fun; driving my wife nuts

 The G10 has a great feel to it with good texture and doesn’t feel like cheap plastic. The Notro-v blade steel reminds me a lot of VG10; easy to sharpen and holds a decent edge. It’s no super steel but is ideal for most of my needs; definitely not a junk steel. Nothing about this knife feels cheap

 Blade is centered, bevels are even, edge came very sharp. Very good value for the money. CIVIVI has really impressed me with many of their offerings; this is definitely one of their best. I hope they keep this pattern around

The knife is pretty ergonomic and comfortable but it’s extremely aggravating to spend almost $100 on a blade and it break 3 weeks in.

 But there are some interesting things going on with the Imperium’s blade beyond its classic shape and size. First off, it comes with two different opening methods: a dual thumb stud and a front flipper. On top of that, Civivi deviated from their usual steel choices here, giving users a blade made from Nitro-V, a nitrogen-enriched steel comparable to AEB-L; Nitro-V isn’t a super steel, but as a modern budget steel it combines great stain resistance with more than adequate edge retention.
