I buy a TON of stuff on Amazon (every week in fact), and it is rare to see any product this securely a(and cleverly) packaged. But yeah, the bass is great and the treble is clear and crisp. This is not a $10,000 surround sound movie theater system, but for a pair of "relatively inexpensive" speakers, this set kicks ass. They really put out nice sound

I hope they will provide e an app for EQ in the future. But then, I can always adjust the EQ on my phone. For now, the treble is just right

I also had to spend time troubleshooting the HDMI connection, which stopped working after about 10 days. The problem turned out to be a streaming device that interfered with the HDMI signal going to the speakers, so I have had to work around that. If the speakers were plug and play as they should be, they would be worth five stars. They are worth only three stars because of the capricious update procedure, the clunkiness of the Klipsch Updater and Klipsch Connect apps, and the lack of documentation that Klipsch should have made available to help with troubleshooting

Had really high hopes for these to replace my 4 speaker (plus sub) system and for what I paid, these are kind of awful and not Bose-like quality. I own several Bose products but these are way overpriced for what you get. The bass was non-existent so not sure why others are saying it has great bass. It's not overpowering but it's really not even there

I really looked at a lot of speakers for computers - it was between these and the Creative ones but the Creative ones had some auto-off feature causing missed notification sounds - so I got these. So I am generally happy with the way they LOOK - important because my home office is in the corner of my living room and they look nice on the ladder bookshelves on each side of my desk - due to the cabinet design. I like the prominence of the Bose logo, makes them acceptable looking for the setting of within a refined living room. They are great for video games, my main goal was to have computer sound that I could hear over the sound of my 12000btu air conditioner

Almost everyone here recommends studio monitors (ie. Adam T5V/T8V) but OP has specifically separated them from consumer speakers like the Edifier. I also separate them because of aesthetics: studio monitors do sound really good, but they don't look that good on a living room. :)

These are exceptional speakers for their size! I use them with my laptop and they truly make my laptop experience much better. The sound from any internal laptop speakers is just not acceptable in any way for me. I have tried a couple of different inexpensive external speakers with so-so sound quality at best. Today I get these Bose speakers hooked up (took all of 2 minutes) and I'm immediately going down a YouTube rabbit hole, playing a bunch of my favorite songs and enjoying them like I never have been able to do before! I was concerned about not having any other adjustments except volume, but that concern was unfounded

The Fives literally blew away the 1's because of their bigger size. When the 1's were at full volume, the Fives had similar sound levels at about 60% slider. *However*, at the same *'Absolute volume'* level The clarity of Play 1's seemed a tiny bit *more* than the Fives as The Fives had more bass and punch to them as compared to 1's. This obviously diminished as the 1's were pushed to higher volumes (Above 70%)
