I wouldn't trust the lock to hold under great strain, but this knife isn't for those kinds of jobs. Great knife; a pocket-sized (and weighted) 110

 1) small in size as mentioned above ( but still large enough for reasonable use) 2) light weight 3) very slim profile 4) not "tactical" looking 5) US made This turns out to be harder than one might imagine. Knives tend to be too large, or too military looking for polite use, or most dreadfully made "offshore". Enter the "55". I have long been a fan of buck knives and have a deep respect for the fact that they manage to produce a high quality product in the US while keeping their prices very reasonable

 The good news is that the knife arrived and fits my parameters perfectly; it is small, light, handsome with brass bolsters and polished rose wood scales, but alas the blade was completely dull. I am not a stickler for the sharpness of a knife when it arrives, as I have high standards for sharpness and also understand that you need to be willing to work with a blade over its life. However the 55 that I receive appeared unfinished, the blade seems to have received the the first shaping grind, but none of the subsequent polishing or sharpening grinds, I had to work for 20 minutes on a grinding stone to get the primary bevel in place and another 10 minutes of work before it would cut paper. Once that happened the knife was perfect, I was just a bit surprised and disappointed that this one snuck out the door of the buck factory essentially as an unfinished item

 Like it's big brother, the 55 is superb workmanship, and incredibly sharp. It's very lightweight, but also striking in simplicity and beauty. I find myself not wanting to have this in my pocket everyday, but on occasion, so as not to age it too quickly, but then again, at only around $30, it's easily replaced. I can't say this any more positively than this: If you need a single blade, locking pocket knife, sharp enough to skin deer or whatever, buy this knife! You will love it!

I like the knife, however fit and finish on the scales could be better. The blade arrived with a burr, almost seems like they didn't finish sharpening it.

 So that's not a bad price. For a K bar o'clock knife, you know of this style real g10. You know it's a decent knife, Canadian prices for this amazon.ca - that's Canada's Amazon has it for 3167

 You'Ve got a little over half of an inch of the knife, sticking out, not quite three quarters of an inch and you've got that sort of dull gray color. So it's not too visible. People aren't gon na see it for easily in a pair of blue jeans. But yes, it is there, it's not a high gloss, but it's not a complete matte finish either and the pocket clip you can hear it

 Twelve point: seven centimeters five inches almost exactly the grip area between my fingernails of my pinky's right here is eleven point: four centimeters four and a half inches the handle thickness back here, not counting the pocket that one point one six centimeters, which is point four. Five. Five inches of just under half of an inch thick, and I did it again - I didn't do the conversion into inches. The total length of this knife is twenty-two point two five centimeters thread around eight and three-quarter inches

 On this one of the advantages of a softer steel, is it's going to be easier to sharpen? So if you do use this and you need to sharpen often all you will need to sharp them more often, but sometimes you just want a softer steel depending on what you're cutting if you're cutting certain things more regularly and if you want an easy job of Sharpening your knife, another good reason to get a blade with 420 is, if you're learning how to sharpen, because it'll go more quickly, you know start teaching you the skills and will start giving you the muscle memory, no matter what style of sharpener that you use. If you do completely hand sharpening on a whetstone or if you use a system where you're sliding a abrasive pad across all of them requires some muscle memory, they require practice, they require learning and often a softer Steel's good. For that, for the learning process, the we've got hex screws. Those are allen keys right there for the pivot, so you can adjust it if you want to, which is a good thing

 I can't do it um personal preference aside. I just can't dang it for being tipped down, says tip up, but i hope you enjoyed. I hope you learned a little bit um good lord one, quick, don't rise i'll, be able to take this out to the hunting property sometime this hunting season and do a second review of it out under field conditions, because it definitely looks like it deserves that, we'll Just have to see in the meantime i hope you enjoyed.
