  The battery life is incredible, as long as you're not running the GPS constantly. I'm currently using a Garmin Instinct Solar. Continuous HR and HRV monitoring. Battery 3+ weeks. Much better with tracking workouts and stuff

 For most people just looking for an activity tracker, this watch might be a little overwhelming. While I don't go on long jogs or marathons, and I'm not into rugged mountaineering, I feel like this watch could definitely handle that. I was just looking for a watch to track my daily activity, walks or runs in my neighborhood, occasional tail hikes, sleep, pulse ox, phone notifications, and include things like weather, stopwatch, countdown timer, compass, and most of all have a great battery life. This watch easily delivers all of that

 Notifications can be easily dismissed on the watch and they immediately disappear from your phone. Just be aware that it is the down button that dismisses the notification. It is also the same button used to scroll down though the notification content when you select the notification. More than once, I've accidentally dismissed the notification thinking that I was going to scroll down to see the additional content

 I was just looking for a watch to track my daily activity, walks or runs in my neighborhood, occasional tail hikes, sleep, pulse ox, phone notifications, and include things like weather, stopwatch, countdown timer, compass, and most of all have a great battery life. I would suggest that anyone interested in this watch download the manual from Garmin's website and just look at what it offers

 I'm the kind of person who drains a watch battery in 1/2 of the amount of time it's supposed to take, and that is without including GPS activities. The first time I fully charged this watch, it showed a 27 day battery life. Without doing GPS activities, it will easily make it a full day and show 26 days by the next day. In my experience, the watch seems to calculate the remaining battery life based on recent usage

A well built rugged solar watch

 The Garmin instinct is the one I chose. It doesn't look as fancy as the Fenix models, but the Instinct is so much better as a practical smartwatch for the price. The Vivoactive 3 is terrible compared to the functionality and durability of the Instinct. The Instinct does not have a fancy touch screen, but it makes up for it in terms of features

Summary: I was looking for a Garmin watch to use with Garmin app workout group. I order several different models, including the vivoactive 3. The Garmin instinct is the one I chose. It doesn't look as fancy as the Fenix models, but the Instinct is so much better as a practical smartwatch for the price

 The initial set-up options and instructions are very simple follow. The watch faces are customizable and let you put as much or little info you want in the main face format. You can then decide what other options you want to access from each button. For example, I have 5 different things being displayed on the main face, and then the short list of things I want are available, each button having multiple options of your choosing to scroll through

However, if you need a backpacking, casual or travelers watch, you should be really happy with this watch

 The watch needs to be removed for an accurate reading. • A tad bulky on thin wrists (not really a con, just worthy of noting for those who have smaller wrists) • Alti/Baro log review is limited by style of display. If this is a critical feature to you, I'd consider GPS watches • You can only set a single alarm. This is also such a huge oversight

Water resistance is decent, but no where near my Casio Mudman 9300, which was half the price and put up with a LOT more abuse. I was hoping to love this, but a few things bother me. Good watch with some shortcomings.

 Plus I go swimming daily in the in-ground pool with the watch on without issue. The band is holding up good as new, the face of the watch has no scratches, and all of the buttons work perfectly. After three months of everyday use I have zero complaints about the watch. Glad I bought it

I've been wearing this watch for three months now. It works exactly as advertised to this point. I live in Florida and like to keep an eye on the weather when outside. The barometer function mirrors my home weather station closely

Excellent Watch

 The altimeter is a bit complicated and requires input to calibrate on a regular basis. Temperature appears to be biased by being on your arm and is not ambient. These are no big deals for me, i am enjoying the watch, and it is very comfortable to wear.

 The watch itself is fantastic, The watchband is very comfortable and the features are fairly easy to figure out. Very cool design and a watch I plan to have for years to come. Just be prepared to have to hound the shipping company every step of the way.

I'm stationed in Afg and had previously ordered a watch from Amazon but it was lost, so I was a bit nervous about ordering another one. The shipping company was Pier 18 and they were late in shipping it out and 3 days after the shipping date cited by Amazon I had to send a reminder email to them, but after that I got the watch in less than 2 weeks. The watch itself is fantastic, The watchband is very comfortable and the features are fairly easy to figure out. Very cool design and a watch I plan to have for years to come
