 And this really shouldn't be a struggle for any rescue blade, and yet I have suffered, had people on deck that have tried to use their blades to cut some of our working ropes, and they just are sawing through them, they just cannot get through them. Gerber has an excellent, excellent cutting surface, and that's part of the reason that I'm doing this review, because out of everything else that I talk about this knife, it has to be able to cut, it has to be able to perform, and that's something I just don't see with other ones. If you think you like the handle better, the retention better, ask yourself for a look at that blade and see, can I actually cut a rope if I need to, because otherwise what's the point in carrying it around or buying a better version of this if it won't cut through any rope. And I realized paracord is just what I have in the studio here, I've cut much thicker stuff, even if it has to take two swipes through some good half inch navy rope, this will do it
