 These are taiwanese made. Ykk zippers, i can tell you already, which is okay um, they tend to be smooth. Go rocks take a little bit to get broken in, as you can see, um like this will take a little while to get smooth, whereas something like this bullet, which is already broken in, is just very smooth, but that's okay anyway, so that's it packed out. That'S kind of what it looks like i really like the shape the shapes a little bit more like this

 They gave one of my favorites. The radio ruck is a goruck bag. That is small. Basically, it's for small frame people - i am a short short person um, it's it's! It'S short in stature like a and normally a gr1 would be something like this i'll show you next to my bullet

 I think that that's going to be good in use to be honest, i'll put this guy in there there you go so i've packed out like that and there's like still space on top of where this dead matsuda is so wallets in this pocket. Since i don't use my wallets very much and uh, let's see so my keys in this front guy my mask because i tend to use those things and this top one i'll put my corona stuff this and this this zippers are all ykk.  I dig it laptop in the back here laptop in the back now. This is something we're probably gon na have to talk about, so i don't know how big your laptops are. This is a 13-inch macbook, air and uh. It fits like, like i mean, there's like, maybe that much space there

Laptop compartment does not fit 15 inches laptop ... maybe 14 inches laptop will fit, my lenovo x390 is okay, but msi gs65 does not fit, not even close

I would say if the laptop compartment can really fit my MSI GS-65, it would be the perfect Ruck

with laptop sleeve in the main compartment is okay (a little tight), but than there is no false bottom protection for it

It is the quick and dirty on the radio, ruck goruck's original bag that uh before the gr1 and a comparable size, 21 liters, but again a little shorter frame without a frame sheet. So very nice bag not exactly like the gr1 little subtle differences.  But still you get this deeper rook for maybe deeper items that, whatever you carried, maybe a larger camera bag that you're going to throw in here some other items. They just want that deeper size. This would be the right size for you important to note, though. The big difference between this and a gr1 is the lack of the frame sheet

 So that's just something to point out again: just an all-around carry bag. I would not recommend putting steel plates in it if you were going to use steel plates i'd go with a rucker for sure, but if you were crazy enough to just want to get one bag and use it for everything and have that bomb proof pocket, you Could put a plate in here show a picture here of what that looks like how much gap you have to put a steel plate. I put the 20 pounder in there just to show you how big that would fit the 30 pounder would fit uh and it again it fits just fine, there's a little bit of a play in there, but not much, and i wouldn't recommend putting in the elastic Pocket because it's just going to fly out, crush whatever results is in there, maybe even slide up the hitch in the heads, and it's also rain proof. So, just like all the other goruck bags, um the material and the quality, is just fantastic and it's a rainproof bag

 It'S essentially a little bit deeper than the gr1 and a little bit shorter. The dimensions, if you care, are posted right here you can see the dimensions, it's only a half inch, uh different and some of the dimensions and it's really taller.  The first one is a very small compartment and inside it, houses a key leash, which you can just attach your keys to a good way. They just keep them secure and always know where they are. This compartment goes to about this much of the size, so you'd probably can't fit a whole lot in here. Maybe some Bluetooth, wireless earphones or some snack bars, but yet not a whole lot of space that you have in this compartment now

 This compartment also features a padded tablet sleeve. So you can put in most large tablets inside here. At the moment I just have a little notebook inside, but it has this fleece lining inside which is padded and feels very soft to the touch that will do well to protect your screens. Combine that with the back panel padding it'll do well to protect your device, but this compartment is fairly large

 On the front of the bag, we have these two compression straps that are also accessory straps. If you have larger items of gear, you could put them inside here and just cinch them down whether that's a yoga mat or a large jacket. I'Ve seen some people with larger bottles, put them upside down and then just cinch them tight. So you have those options as well, but if you have a lot of gear in here and as you're moving, you don't want things jingling around as you move, then you can just secure all that load by compressing the bag

 In that way, you have everything nice and tight nice and secure. You also have this elastic webbing to tidy up the straps slack if it gets a bit too long. So you have that option as well and also these buckle. Clasps are really easy to open and close

A Classic Take-Everywhere Bag - The Patagonia Atom Sling

Rather than the Patagonia Atom sling, I would recommend getting a packable backpack that you can toss in your rucksack while you are travelling. I used to have a cheap Chinese one, which worked ok, but then broke after a couple of years, and I upgraded to a 16L Matador backpack, which while expensive is really great for day-to-day use, tough-as-nails, and completely waterproof. 

Hi all! I am new to the One Bag community but have always been a very light packer so I'd love to do away with luggage and pick up a backpack. The trick is figuring out which one is the right one!

I - theoretically - have a 2.5 week trip to Ireland and Scotland in May 2021 (we'll see if that happens). Clearly, I have time to plan but I'm trying to figure out which bag to pick up and do some test runs and get used to it. I will be mainly staying in hostels, possibly some Air BNBs, and intend to do laundry throughout my trip. My pack list for my bag is:

- 2x merino tees
- 1x merino sweater
- 1x raincoat (packs down quite a bit but will probably worn a lot of the time)
- 4x merino socks
- 3x leggings
- 1x dress or jeans (can't decide which)
- 4x underwear
- 1x bra
- 1x pajamas (probably something like Uniqlo Heat Tech shirt + leggings)
- a regular size dopp kit (folding brush, a tin for solid soap, toothbrush, mascara, deodorant, etc.)
- airpods and wired earbuds
- a few charging cables
- flip flops

I'll be wearing a Patagonia Atom sling to carry my daily essentials (passport, wallet, phone, headphones, etc.)

My "wishes" for the bag I buy:
- somewhat minimalist
- clamshell/suitcase opening
- water bottle pocket
- sternum strap
- under $250
- to not totally overwhelm my frame (5'5", female)

I am a bit overwhelmed with what size backpack to purchase. Right now I'm eyeing *Evergoods CPL24* (or 28, maybe...) and the *PacSafe Vibe 28L*. I love the look of *Aer* bags as well as *Heimplanet*. I would ideally love to get the first purchase right (who wouldn't!), so I'm hoping that some of you could advise on which bag (or at least which size) makes the most sense as you all have so much more experience than I do!

New-ish to Onebag; 2.5 week trip to Ireland/Scotland next year and trying to determine which bag is the right bag!

But since this is manybaggers reddit :) . When I am at work especially during hot weather, I like to go for walks but HATE things in my pockets (especially in work clothes). So I bought the bellboy sling 7l because I wanted a bag I can keep at my desk that I can use everyday to carry my items (since I will come to work with a messenger bag to carry my machine). If its windy (from Chicago) I can pack a wind breaker into it, or carry a rain coat if I think it might rain at some point in my walk 

What do you guys think of the Bellroy Sling 7L? I current have The North Face Lumbar pack and the straps dangle and annoy me. I was thinking of getting something with the nice aesthetic of the Bellroy Sling but with similar inner pockets and organization of the Art Day Sling 2. Do you guys have recommendations or thoughts on the Bellroy Sling?

Bellroy Sling 7L

  On one side I have my larger 1.5L bottle nestled in the 750ml pot, the other side I have my 1L squirt top bottle(s).  In the pocket above I stick my first aid kit.  The top depending on how the bag is packed can trap down my sleeping pad (otherwise I use a strap system), the hip belt is big but I feel its just right for what I like to keep in it

* 5.11 Moab 6 - this thing is ridiculous.  It cuts the size of the 10 down in half, but then it hangs off you like a giant box.   Regretted this purchase

 but it was just too big and heavy.  The material always felt like despite being thick, thorny branches and whatnot would destroy it.  I bought the 28L to try it out with its lower weight and size, but it ended up being still too heavy and too much of a travel bag to use for backpacking.

I backpack a bunch. One AT thru hike and a bunch of other stuff. Here are the backpacks I have used so far.

1. Osprey Talon 44. Still don't understand why this is not a more used ultralight pack. It was my pack for 2190 miles. It was trashed, I am not sentimental, I threw it away after my thru hike.
2. On the last 170 miles of the Long Trail I used the Granite Gear Vapor Trail 60 limited edition. Bought it because it was cheap. It worked well but wanted to get lighter. I let a friend borrow it a few months ago don't know if I will get it back or use again.
3. Gossamer Gear G4-20. Used it 14+ nights so far replaced the back pad with Various CCF pads. Worked well but not 5+ days or during the winter because of lack of frame. I still own this and will use again for everything 3 season less than 3 or 4 days.
4. Just ordered a HMG 3400 Southwest. I am thinking great winter and 5+ day pack and good for places you need a bear can.

What is the best backpack? My history.

The important thing is to keep weight down. Sling bags, obviously, don’t evenly distribute weight. Fully loaded down, my bag is still well under 10lbs, carries everything I need for the day, as well as everything I need to jump on a flight half way around the country or even to walk home in a pinch.

I see places like PackHacker posting stuff about sling bags etc but I’ve honestly never understood why I would ever buy one? They don’t look practical or comfortable but I feel like I’m just missing something?

To those of you with sling bags. Sell/explain them to me please.

Can someone explain to me the point of sling bags? What am I missing?

 I can move freely with the bag on my back, it swings to the side when I sit and slides around the to front in the car. I realize that a disabled guys review of the bag doesn’t apply to your hike but this is a great every day carry. I do appreciate the thought, research and craftsmanship that goes into a Patigonia product. You simply can’t go wrong with their products

I bought this bag with the anticipation and plans to be visiting Disneyland Park. My last recent visits, I would bring your more traditional back pack and my wife and I learned that the bag was really not needed, however, I still wanted to have some sort of bag to carry a power bank , my Yeti, phone, keys and wallet. I saw this bag on a couple while standing in line and loved the way the bag looked and the simplicity of it. When doing more research, I was hooked with the convenience the bag would offer
