Quality of the bag is great but I have some complaints. No storage on the front of bag, really wish there was a zipper compartment or something. The hole for the hydration bladder hose is small and takes a significant amount of effort to get through. Overall pretty decent bag of great quality

I wish Gregory had not removed the right-side pocket for the side zipper. Also wish they had used a U-shaped zipper like the Baltoro. If looking at Gregory packs, also consider the Baltoro at about the same weight – it has a U-shaped zipper but lacks the front pocket of the Katmai. I recommend this pack

This bag is ok for new and starting hiker, as soon as I got the bag I started putting my gear in it and notice one of the zipper where the sleeping bag/quilt is placed was broken, I’m hoping that the other zipper doesn’t break being that is the only one left already and I didn’t even get to take it out yet, witch leads me to believe that the hardware on the bag is not all that great, cheap even for an osprey bag. Other than that the osprey bag is pretty lightweight and comfortable but don’t know if I would go with this one again
