Modern Exploration

 Chair was from 2008 though.  Cons: They unfastened the part of the chair held on with Torx bolts. No assembly instructions. I have to hunt down the right Torx screwdriver now

Disappointing at first

I've had this chair for a few years now but really put it to the test during the pandemic. It's affordable yet very comfortable and durable. It's still holding up without any wear or issues.

 So you've got a seat depth adjustment, you've got of course height adjustment all the way to the bottom, and all the way to the very top, I mean this is tall, like this would sit a very kind of tall person, so you've got great range on that. Armrests, something about the Aero, I hate the armrests, the armrests are awful on that, I don't know why they have it the same, even when they released the remastered version, you have, they only sort of go up in height, and then these really kind of bad plastic things that go in and out. This one is a lot better I find, like height adjustment is very easy, you've got a kind of knob on the side that you use to adjust, and then the armrests will go, so they go side to side, and to us as well, so you can get a really nice kind of range of position on your armrests there, something that the other chairs don't have.  You would think it being all plastic and kind of not fabric that it wouldn't be comfortable, but it really is, it doesn't matter but it's a nice looking chair too if that makes any difference, but yeah just if you can get one kind of cheap in your area, if you find one around your area and you're looking for an office chair, I mean go for it, like money spent on office chairs in my opinion, used ones is really always going to be a good idea, you know would you pay £1 every day to be able to not have back pain, and if your existing office chair is giving you back pain and one of these won't, then over a year that's like £360 and over the 5-10 years that one of these is going to last, easily 5-10 years, it's going to pay for itself time and time over if you buy one of these, so always, not always, if you don't work from home it might not be worth it, but with more people working from home I think more people are going to want to invest in a quality office chair and so that's why you have brands like Hayworth, Herman Miller, Steelcase and you know just investing in something that makes your work more comfortable so you can be more productive as well and just have a nicer time because if you're in pain, if you have back pain it's not going to help your situation in terms of happiness, so yeah really recommend this chair, it's a very nice chair, very, very good looking and yeah hope you like it as well.

 Now, today, I would like to show you one of my favorite office chairs. It's this chair here, and this is the Hermann Miller Cell Chair. Now, I think this was introduced about 2015, 2010, something like that. But this is a really, really nice chair, and I'd like to show you why

 This one is a lot better I find, like height adjustment is very easy, you've got a kind of knob on the side that you use to adjust, and then the armrests will go, so they go side to side, and to us as well, so you can get a really nice kind of range of position on your armrests there, something that the other chairs don't have. So I really like that, the armrests are very nice. I think an armrest is not key in a chair, but it's nice to be able to feel you can kind of retreat back from your desk, and kind of like, just relax a bit, feel a bit of support, and it's just a nice thing to have the armrests there, I find generally. We've got a lumbar support on the back

An extremely well made chair by Herman Miller that I am a big fan of. 
I still use an Aeron for my main chair but this is a very close second. 

It has great adjustments and is extremely well built. I would say if you are above average height then it would work best.

 And that's the reason why I actually transitioned away from it here in the office to an Amia chair. It felt like in the tailbone region, it just offers me a bit better support.  One of the reasons why this chair consistently gets picked by our staff as a best overall for most people is because of how adjustable it is. Really, the entire chair will adjust to fit almost any body type. First, specifically, we look at just seat height range because this is going to be one of the more core components of getting a chair set to you. It will go all the way down to 15 and a half inches and up to as high as 20 and a half inches

 The LEAP also has one of the most comfortable backrests and a lot of that comes down to, again, much like the seat, the fact that it is flexible. It moves around with you.  I'm only 5ft 10in so I doubt I should be feeling an open area behind my rear while sitting on this chair.  My next issue also involves the base. It rocks back and forth by about 1/5 of an inch. I'm not sure if that's a conscious design decision but it's annoying when I try to re-position myself in the chair

 If I try to push myself up with my legs the base tips forward and makes the process of readjusting a bit more fatiguing.  My last issue so far is the clicking noise the chair makes when I lean back in it. I understand why my cheap old chair creaked and clicked when I would move back and forth. For this price would expect the chair to operate silently however

Chair is comfortable but a few build quality issues

Just as the title says, I tried the Steelcase Gesture, the Herman Miller Embody Gaming Edition and the Aeron Remastered. Out of these three, I ended up keeping the Aeron and returning the others.

I bought the Gesture, the Embody and the Aeron and only kept the Aeron. AMA!

The chair is offered in leather but the fabric was more suited to resist wear from what I read (plus breathe-ability), plus that was an ungodly expensive option. The chrome around the seat base is something I chose not to upgrade either; the plastic down there and the rest of the chair still looks great. ***Buying a used chair is more frugal, but you aren't likely to find a Gesture. *** I weighed buying the Leap/Aeron used for significantly less and ended up going for the Gesture knowing how much I was going to use it and I don't regret my purchase

Entering year three as a Steelcase Gesture with Headrest owner... still happy. This thing is built like a tank.

Make sure your monitors are raised up, and use a footrest if necessary.  All important.

Ergonomics chair help

 HEADREST IS A MUST! Trust me you won't have buyers remorse. Actually considering buying a second one to have one at home and one at work.

I am truly, madly, passionately, head-over-heels in love with this chair. Had been delaying buying one for years because of the price, and now I regret all of that time lost. It is incredibly customizable (with extreme ease) and feels like it was made for the individual sitting in it. Worth every last cent

Can I marry a chair?!

Given I live in a hot country, this is one of the main things that swayed my decision. I would love the option for a mesh seat like the Aeron, but that would basically be a completely different chair design so I get why Steelcase doesn't offer it. The Gesture wheel base assembly is made of metal, although I've never had a problem with plastic for this component since I'm usually barefoot at home and won't wear the plastic down by scraping it with shoes.
