Suction not as good as I had hoped

Suction not as good as I had hoped. Though it is really quiet compared to conventional vacuums. Returned item in hopes to find something with better suction that fills the bag.

Best money you've spent in the last year

My SEBO K3 vacuum cleaner. I've been using a crappy Kenmore canister for over 20 years that had poor suction and leaked dust into the air. The room would smell and my allergies would flare up each time I vacuumed. With this fine piece of German engineering, the HEPA filters contain all of the dust, leaving my house dust-free and smell-free

Is high pile carpet vacuum strictly better than low pile carpet vacuum?

For majority carpets I recommend a vacuum with a powered brushroll, manual height adjustment, and brushroll shutoff (for when you're using the hose and tools). The Miele C3 Calima is not good for a majority carpeted house.

Investing in a Sebo canister if you don’t know what your “forever home” will be?

There's nothing really better than a power nozzle canister (like the SEBO K3) for being able to tackle a variety of surfaces. You probably wouldn't end up using the ET-1 powerhead as much if you moved someplace with hard floors and area rugs, but the SEBO K3's still gonna be a top tier vacuum when equipped with a hard floor nozzle. If it's not included in the box, I'd highly recommend getting the Premium Parquet head. Best hard floor tool on the market IMO

Sebo is top of the line!

Attachments swivel and does not stick honestly The Sebo feels like it was made by people who actually knows what’s needed when vacuum cleaning (unlike the Dyson folks) and nothing is complicated or hard to change! This is the best vacuum I have owned and easily beats Miele, Dyson, Electrolux and many other brands I have owned. Also the Price is well worth the product!

Canadian here!! Any recommendations on upright?

These are German made vacuums designed for long life, good filtration, and easy maintenance. This one's an upright (if you prefer that form factor over a canister), but you can detach the floor head and collapse the handle for portability when cleaning stairs with the hose.

To spend or not to spend

The SEBO K3 is wonderfully quiet. The exhaust air passes through what looks like a cushy bumper around the perimeter of the canister. Hence, the name "Airbelt." This excellent design helps account for the quiet operation of the machine

Great vacuum, defective filter

One of the Hepa filters arrived warped and wouldn't be able to seal. I left a message to seller 6 days ago and haven't heard back. Just left another and Amazon's automated response said to give the seller 6 more days. Unreasonable

Sebo K3, Sebo E3, Miele C3 (and which C3)?

I recommended going to a local dealer. I just got a Sebo K3 with 8 bags, filter replacement and the turbo brush attachment for $650. Plus supporting and knowing the person who will probably service your machine is nice too.

Price Point

Miele C3 vs Sebo E3

Assuming you're in the U.S., there isn't really much shopping around that can be done with the Complete C3. Miele's cheaper models (Classic C1 & Compact C1) that're available at stores like BB&B get occasional discounts, but Miele seems pretty strict about enforcing a consistent MSRP online for the high end vacuums

The cord retraction is horrible. Always trying to retract the cord when I don't want. So frustrating!

But for the money, it's not much of an improvement over my old vac, and the cord retraction and inability to disconnect the powerhead with your foot are starting to really irritate me. What really makes it irritating is that they would seem to be easy fixes, and I don't know why they have not made that change. If I had a time machine and could go back 12 months, I'd get another Progressive vac, or try a different vac. I would not buy this again
