Mystery Ranch Urban Assault 24 vs REI Co-op Flash 18 Pack

The most comfortable pack is typically the one with nothing in it. 😊 Under load though, from my collection it'd be the Mystery Ranch Urban Assault 24.

We like it as it is light, for the dimensions, for the comfort as it is renforced in the back and for his inside pocket with a zip . The zip pocket is well placed because when you carry your backpack on your back, you can carry your day pack in the front and have easy acces to your keys or money in the zip pocket.

I bought the UA 24 as a bike commuter bag and briefcase substitute ( I also have the MR 3-way briefcase but could not carry a thermos/water bottle well). The quality and attention matched what I expect from Mystery Ranch. However, the external pockets barely fit a Kleen Kanteen/Hydroflask etc. 32oz bottle that are very mainstream right now

I use this pack for commuting by bike. I had last year's and had to exchange it because the Velcro that held the back pad in just fell apart and every time I reached in my hand went back to no hands land. They fixed that with this one, and added an even easier (!) drawstring top, outside pocket, and two inner slip pockets. It's such a great size and is so lightweight

Bought about a month ago. Love the bag. Loses 1 star due to the left shoulder strap coming loose on its own occasionally.

Most backpacks don't have cleaning instructions. However I have to return the backpack because one part of its design does not suit me. The shoulder straps seem to be made so as to fit a person with broader shoulders. Of course when a backpack is filled with items it can fit differently than if it is empty

Unlike other reviewers, I find this pack to be in the small side. It's great for quick hikes to hold a small jacket and sandwich, but doesn't hold much more than that. I've been trying to make a crag-bag out of this, but I can't even fit my harness and shoes in here, let alone jacket, food, other gear, etc.

Less roomy in the main compartment and laptop compartment than expected. I find pulling the top to open more difficult than convenient. I would recommend reversing the direction of the inside mesh pocket zippers on the side flaps of the main compartment as they are difficult to access quickly. Would also recommend a small area of MOLLE and a small area of Velcro on a portion of the exterior of the bag

it's just pull folder, there's no house or they lock it and then also on the front it has this small zipper pocket you can fit your phone, your wallet...

I also appreciate the aesthetics of it not screaming that it’s military or a similar type design. My only criticisms is it’s a little smaller than I expected but that’s on me. Also, the zipper pulls are fairly basic 550 cord type pulls so I wish they’d chosen a longer lasting part since these tend to always come loose over time but it hasn’t happened to me yet since it’s still fairly new. Overall, I highly recommend this product and I’d buy it again and am also looking to buy another MR pack in the future

I originally bought this to keep in my personal carryon for flight to Turkey but may just use this for my carryon! The zippers are sturdy and the fabric durable. It comes in lots of colors but I like what I ordered/received. I highly recommend.

I would like to be able to put the bag down and not be forced to lay it flat on the back or lean it against something to prevent it from falling over. I would love it if it had a flat bottom or one that would allow it to stand up on its own when you set it on the ground.

I bought this to take on my trip to NYC - just needed something lightweight that I could fit a bunch of stuff in (souvenirs, hoodie, etc). It was perfect. And the top closure is nice because nobody could pick-pocket me.

It is super high quality top to bottom. I wanted something multipurpose for EDC, weekend travel, and some light day hiking. The low profile non-tactical styling, numerous pockets, and single main storage compartment was all a great departure from the school book bag style packs I’d previously owned.
