If you can get it for a reasonable price, a decent card, but at the current inflated prices...

As far as performance goes, if you're still on an older graphics card, 900 series and down, there's a noticeable performance bump. It's not exactly night and day depending on what you're upgrading from, but if your current video card bites the dust and you can't get a hold of the current 3000 series or even 2000 series, this one will get the job done.. IF

Cooling

Gaming Laptop with hefty cooling solution and higher end parts (1000 - 2000$) (United States)

Being a 17.3" it offers better cooling than the standard 15" models. If you want more RAM or storage you just need to remove the bottom panel and everything is accessible from there.

If you can manage to scoop one of these up, do it. The pricing was fair (especially the way the market is currently) when I purchased this early February. Nvidia GTX 1660 ~£250 (miles over my budget but willing to wait an extra 10 weeks if it is absolutely worth it). I'm leaning towards the GTX 970 as it is cheapest and my dad (was self employed in the pc industry with both software and hardware for 15 years) says it's still a very good card. Obviously cards like the RTX 3090 are out of the question but I'm looking for something at most under £200.

Compatibility

Rev 1 still running strong. It's still got a few tricks up its sleeve.

When I purchased this card, it was substantially less expensive. I actually purchased it as an upgrade from my Radeon card (not to say that AMD is any less of a brand, nor Radeon any less of a GPU, but I needed hardware compatibility for the IRay render engine as well as VR readiness). However it still competes with the current video cards, and I've put it up against not only games, but also some industrial applications like AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Maya.

- Nvidia GTX 1660-SUPER (Fairly certain it's compatible). - AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (Same here). - Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3000MHz (have no reason to doubt it).

Overclocking

These are nice graphics cards!

These are well-built, and run great. They overclock quite well. Software says they're manufactured by MSI with Samsung GDDR6.
