Like most of the Osprey packs, it's got all of the right lashings where they need to be, which is fantastic for when you're on the move and that will kind of stop all of your gear kind of throwing around and throwing you off weight, particularly if you're on steep terrain. I mean it really is just a solid all-around bag and that's why we love Osprey so much

 The Osprey a mesh back frame really allows that separation between your back and the bag, which is gonna help with ventilation and stop that horrendous wet back feeling. Making sure that a hiking pack is the best fit for you is really important, and it's even better when you can do that quite conveniently. This bag is ok for new and starting hiker, as soon as I got the bag I started putting my gear in it and notice one of the zipper where the sleeping bag/quilt is placed was broken, I’m hoping that the other zipper doesn’t break being that is the only one left already and I didn’t even get to take it out yet, witch leads me to believe that the hardware on the bag is not all that great, cheap even for an osprey bag. Other than that the osprey bag is pretty lightweight and comfortable but don’t know if I would go with this one again

 I think it's a good pack for the price. And of course you get the Osprey reliability and the reputation behind them. If of course you're new to hiking while camping and you may be considering the Osprey Book 50 as a pack for you, I'd recommend you maybe go into a local stockist to try it. make sure it fits you that feels comfortable, even put some items inside just so you can get an idea of how you can carry the weight

 Another design feature that I really like is these shoulder straps. They're nice and thick, well padded, but not overly comfortable to wear, and I have no problems at all with this sitting on my shoulders. It just seems to start digging into me after maybe a couple of hours of walking and even though I've tried to move the load around inside the pack, it just seems to kind of lay a bit awkward on the back of my, uh, my hip. I can be a bit uncomfortable after some time

 It will cover the pack fully loaded, even with maybe some small items on the outside to protect it from the elements. So for these side pockets, they're a good size. They're able to fit one liter water bottles in both sides, plus some other bits and pieces.  You know, if you start trying to lug around 15 to 20 kilos sooner or later, you're really going to start to feel that weight. But certainly for anything under 15 kilos, you'll be absolutely fine. So this is the front of the backpack. so you've got a sleeping bag compartment at the bottom, which has got two big heavy duty zips so you can access your sleeping bag nice and easy, and it's also got a little divider between the two

 This is not a pack I would suggest for any beginner or newbie to get their hands on because there's so much to it to figure out. and if you're just learning how to backpack, this is probably not the pack for you. But if you're somebody who does a lot of four and five day trips, or you're somebody who does a lot of through hiking on some longer trails, this is a fantastic pack. You can load it down with a ton of gear and it carries extremely well

 These are 399 dollars, but you're spending money on an investment. Like I said, this pack can last you a long time because of the fact that you can change out the hip belt and because of all the adjustments that you can make on the backpack. This is not a pack I would suggest for any beginner or newbie to get their hands on because there's so much to it to figure out. and if you're just learning how to backpack, this is probably not the pack for you
