Panasonic RP-TCM125 ErgoFit vs Samsung AKG Type-C

The Panasonic RP-HJE120-K ErgoFit are very basic in-ear headphones with no additional features. They have a decent sound and barely leak, even at high volumes. However, they have a typical in-ear fit, which may be uncomfortable for some. They're not very stable and cannot block the ambient noise of a moderately busy office

The best budget earbuds for small ears that we've tested are the Samsung AKG Type-C. These inexpensive earbuds have a comfortable fit that makes them suitable for long listening sessions. They have a solid, durable-feeling design and come with three differently-sized ear tips to help you get a good fit.

- The ability of these to passively block ambient noise is average and acceptable. - They have a warmish midtone that is probably pleasing depending on the device these are coupled with. I do wonder if my setup had a bit more power available than these were designed for. Sometimes a good clean audio setup leads one to crank the volume higher than they otherwise would do

Furthermore, I wear industrial ear muffs over them to keep the noise from around me out as these buds do not cancel out enough noise to do the job by themselves and I don't want to turn the volume up to compensate and risk damaging my ears. If you're an audiophile or looking for noise cancelling earbuds that work with a USB C port, these are not for you. But if you just need something for the occasional conference call and don't have to worry about background noise too much, then these will work. I give this product 3/5 stars

Being so cheap, I also don't have to fret too much if the Janitor decides to steal this pair also. JVC "Flats": These are on ear headphones, so probably not fair to compare to ear buds. Still they were part of my purchase, so I am including for contrast. At only 12 dollars, I was very surprised how crisp and clean these sounded

These wired in-ears have a comfortable and lightweight design. Their slightly bass-heavy sound profile also delivers extra thump, rumble, and boom to audio, making them a solid choice if you like to listen to genres like EDM and hip-hop. Thanks to their in-line mic, it's easy to take calls on the go. It has a good recording quality, so your voice sounds clear and intelligible to the person on the other end of the line

But as far as I can tell, they are very similar and seem to work fine for now. In conclusion? Great durability on the first set and OK on the second. Customer service took some time and prodding to get back to me, but ultimately replaced the failed product which is exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks Panasonic, I'll be coming back again in (hopefully) a few more years

My original ones are still working a year later and these lasted a couple weeks (bought because soon wanted my original ones). They do work good with volume control and are comfortable to wear. I cannot comment on microphone issues though as I had none.

[*UPDATE* at the end] ~ [original review]: Here's the thing: I really did not wish to be in the market for a set of earphones/earbuds or whatever these things are being called these days – but given the fact that I'd grown tired of barely being able to hear spoken-word audio through my smartphone speaker, whether it was during phone conversations, trying to listen to online programs, or hearing GPS directions while motorcycle riding, I decided it was time to invest in a "workable" set of something that could be plugged directly into my ear canal. Given that I'd had no interest in investing in audiophile-grade equipment at the requisite audiophile-grade prices, my main concern was finding something somewhere within that delicate balance of "Quality-enough" at just "Cheap-enough," and it seemed to me at the time that these just MIGHT have fit that bill: they did have the "Panasonic" name going for them, after all. But even I, who actually WAS trying to "cheap-out," was impressed with the crispness and clarity, as well as the unexpected comfort, of these buds. Again, they are not anything to go for if you're looking for Top-of-the-Line type quality or heavy-duty performance

Went to buy another for my son's pixel. Update: Dropping this to a 3 star since my original review, I purchased another pair of the same ones and its not the same quality. It looks the same, but when using it for calls on the phone or on zoom calls, the other end tells me I sound like a machine with lots of noise. Its a hit or miss for this price

So the search began looking for a set of earbuds that hopefully could solve my previous use of two different sets of earbuds to handle music while working out as well as being able to use it for phone calls. I am cheap when it comes to earbuds since I tend to lose or destroy them on a somewhat regular basis, so I try to spend under $30. I have a similar rule for sunglasses for the same reason. To note, my preference is for bass heavy sound

I haven't switched to the omni-present bluetooth buds since they lack the sound quality of the better corded models. I have a reasonably good ear having been a recording studio sideman guitarist in my youth. This is pretty good for most genres of music, though my Bose Noise-Cancelling buds have better audio - at many times the price. You really have to go over $100 to beat these ones
