 one night, stealth camping, and I got this idea that I will make a video about a product

 that I really like, the Patagonia Quandary Pants. The reason why I like the pants so

 much is because of the material the pants are made of. It's some kind of nylon fabric

 where they have included some elastic material, some kind of spandex, so you won't feel confined

 in the pants and you have really a good freedom of movement. And also the feel of the fabric,

 it's not synthetic, it's more like a cotton feel. You can save some weight by not using

 a belt for the pants because inside here there's a drawstring that holds up the pants like

 on running shorts, and it also is quite comfortable when you are tightening your hip belt. Let

 me show you how elastic the pants are. I'm sorry, it may look a little bit weird so if

 you can't handle it, skip the next fifteen seconds. In the

 front there are two hand warmer pockets that you can operate even when you are wearing

 the hip belt. The pants come with two zippered pockets so I can secure my wallet and my car

 keys. The car keys go into this pocket and the wallet into this pocket. There's also

 another pocket that's not zippered. In this pocket there's room enough for a phone but

 it's not comfortable because when you are walking it's just moving around so I don't

 use it for any heavy stuff. You can also use the side pocket here for a map but it's not

 really good. I don't use it. I'm all about ultralight hiking and the weight of the quandary

 pants is just under 300 grams and I think that is quite acceptable. Well, you could

 ask if I'm so concerned about the weight why I don't use running shorts for hiking and

 it's because here in Scandinavia we have a lot of ticks that not only are carrying

 Lyme disease but also some very dangerous brain disease. I don't hope I got it. If you

 feel for it you can take insect paranoia to the next level by attaching some gaiters to

 the pants and it gives you some good protection when you are walking in tall grass. The pants

 are quite comfortable to wear when you are sleeping in your quilt in colder conditions.

 You can get the pants in three different colors. A grey like I'm using and a beige or khaki

 and a more greenish color. The pants are really well made. Look at this nice detail and here

 you can see the waistband with the drawstring and the pockets. There are some benching material

 and I have been using these pants for like four years and of course there are some signs

 of wear and tear but there are no holes at all. This April I went to Sweden for a long

 hike and I was surprised by a snowstorm. During the night it was very cold and I was only

 bringing my summer quilt so I really enjoyed that I could use the quandary pants to stay

 warm while I was sleeping. To be honest it's freezing cold. During the daytime I was

 hiking in deep snow and I was only bringing my very thin Manvel Versalite rain pants and

 I managed to stay warm while I was hiking so the quandary pants are not only for summer

 use you can also in my experience use them during the winter time. The pants have a UPF

 or sun protection factor. Protection against toxic plants, no problem. That was all from

 me so I'll just say thank you very much for watching the video.
