if you want great performance, perhaps go with water cooling AIO, or Noctua's high end air coolers.  Hopefully it explains it all, even when it comes to cooling with it. Cooler is fragile, fins, paint, and installation is semi-difficult if you have motherboard out of the case, but if it's in the case mounted.

 BUT...I will give the cooler 3 stars, because it's not garbage, but it's poorly designed, and not optimized for overclocking stability

 Tightening the bolts a bit less on the cpu, untill you hit the pressure is enough. Otherwise it will push the thermal paste all over, and thin it out too much where is more physical contact with the cooler, but no thermal paste to speak of now.  I would stay away from this cooler because of the fans first of all, and also, you cannot switch the fans to something else. It uses mounting mechanism that is specific to BeQuiet cooler

..if you want great performance, perhaps go with water cooling AIO, or Noctua's high end air coolers.  Hopefully it explains it all, even when it comes to cooling with it

I don't recommend

  Thermal performance - Honestly I am not sure I should bother reviewing this as in my case - The processor I have seems geared to melt its own tdie if you really push it.  Ryzen 7 5800x Idle ~30c with this. Normal load ~40-60c Heavy load ~60-85c MAX Load ~85c Prime95 max 85-91c  As far as I can tell this works exactly as intended. This being said the Ryzen 7 5800x is a heat monster at actual full bore

 Thermal performance seems to suggest otherwise.  The fan mount to the heat sink is less than great. I have to remove the fan to get to the mounting screws. And unless I want to have the heatsink fan directly against the rear case fan in my case, it has to overhang RAM slot 1 with low profile DIMMs, and while not the worst fan attachment method, it isn't all that fun to remove and reattach

  If you have DIMMs with tall heatsinks or lighting - forget mounting the fan on that side unless you have a pretty large distance between the CPU and RAM.  As for its height - You should really check to make sure you have enough vertical space in your case. For me this thing actually pushes against the case side panel. The tolerances are actually in the "t'aint gonna fit" range

Works as intended as far as I can tell. Not a fan of the mounting.

Or if you plan to overclock, I suggest going with the insanely overkill Dark Rock **Pro** 4. (If it fits). 2. I would skip the 250 GB SSD (unless it’s really needed) and just get the 2TB SSD

a Pure gaming PC

Cooler does an excellent job of keeping my 5900x at reasonable temperatures both at idle and under full load. Aesthetically it looks very nice in my opinion. Compatibility seems to be a strong point, even with my fairly high profile trident z RAM it fit very well without any issues. Also, the included screwdriver has a nice strong magnet that makes it easy to not drop the screws in most scenarios

 The only serious issue I had was that I was upgrading an already built system. From my experience during the install, it seems like it would be a fairly simple install outside of the case. However, seeing as I didn't want to remove my motherboard to install the cooler I had a bit rougher time. While there are holes for the included screwdriver to reach to the screw down points, the screws themselves wont fit through them which forced me to have to maneuver my rather large hands around a very small space to get the screws into place while trying to avoid dropping them

 Be mindful of this when it comes to the clearance needed for your RAM modules. I am using Corsair Vengeance modules, and the clearance is perfect. I would also recommend installing this to your motherboard outside of the case. This gives your the room to properly mount the cooler without having to bend your hands and fingers in unnatural ways

I just installed this cooler on my new 5600x build. It is a massive cooler, as you can see from the picture it covers most of the top half of your motherboard. Be mindful of this when it comes to the clearance needed for your RAM modules. I am using Corsair Vengeance modules, and the clearance is perfect

 This thing is a BEAST. I was running cinebench to check how it was handling heat, and with my 5600x OC'ed to 4.7ghz my cpu temps were holding rock solid with a full load at around 61-62C. This thing performs better than I could have hoped

 I would also recommend installing this to your motherboard outside of the case. This gives your the room to properly mount the cooler without having to bend your hands and fingers in unnatural ways. Another tip would be to mount your NVME drives prior to mounting this cooler. I have the ASUS ROG Strix B550-E and the m2 slot is juuust barely under the bottom of the coolers heat sink

Excellent performance

 Ram clearance and price controlled my purchase. For that, the Dark Rock Pro is amazing. I have mine on a Ryzen 5800x, 35c average temps. Honestly, for what I paid, I’m impressed but AMD has lower power draw vs Intel

 Update: I’ve been messing around with fan speeds and on a 5800x I’m getting about 70c on load. Stress tested using AIDA64. Using a 6700xt, I never drop below 100 FPS on an Asus 1440p ultrawide monitor. If you can get this for $70 or under, like I have, you will be pleased by its performance

  Comparing to the Dark Rock Pro 4 (Assume DRP4 is a baseline 10/10): Build quality: 8/10 Fit and Finish: 5/10 Cooling ability: 9/10 Ease of Installation: 8/10 Noise levels: 10/10 Price: 11/10 Included Fans: 10/10 Looks/Style: 8/10 (subjective)  I won't call this a negative, exactly, but I think it is worth mentioning that the fan cables and included fan splitter come with an extremely rigid sheathing on them making them not very flexible compared to a normal fan cable. This can make them hard to tuck up out of the way or route through the case.  TLDR: Great cooler for the price point but could use better quality control. Dark Rock Pro 4 seems to be a better option, from my personal experience, for about $20 more (at my time of purchase)

 Mine came with 2 large fan brackets so I had to get creative with some zip ties to mount the slim fan. (hence why I am only giving this product 3 stars.)  - Included instructions were not great but the company does have a detailed youtube video on mounting that is much more clear.  - Mouting pressure on the CPU seems way too high

So before the pandemic I got a pre-built for college work from home. Now that I've finished my year and it's summer I want to game on it. It's got a 2080super (not sure where this lies in the card family is this good or the budget one?). It also came with a i7-9700k, all air cooled. It seems to run loud when I run games with an fps cap at 75 (because my monitor).  Is this normal?  For context I do have an ultra wide and usually try max settings. Should I be looking into water cooling for gaming on this rig?  What temp should I expect to be seeing without it?  And it only came with one stick of ram which I was made clearly aware of and already upgraded that to a satisfying dual set.

<div class="md"><p>So before the pandemic I got a pre-built for college work from home. Now that I&#39;ve finished my year and it&#39;s summer I want to game on it. It&#39;s got a 2080super (not sure where this lies in the card family is this good or the budget one?). It also came with a i7-9700k, all air cooled. It seems to run loud when I run games with an fps cap at 75 (because my monitor).  Is this normal?  For context I do have an ultra wide and usually try max settings. Should I be looking into water cooling for gaming on this rig?  What temp should I expect to be seeing without it?  And it only came with one stick of ram which I was made clearly aware of and already upgraded that to a satisfying dual set.  It has a really interesting m.2 slot that has room for two drives (only one comes with) but it actually connects to a pcie slot instead of directly to the mother board. Does this have limitations I should be aware of? The MSRP was around 1800 and looking at the same build now it&#39;s 2,800 so I definitely dodged the price bullet at least.</p>

I got a pre-built and not sure if it's great.

With pretty good case airflow, a Scythe Fuma 2 air cooler ($60) and a tube of MX-5, I have been able to apply a +200MHz boost with PBO and with about 15 minutes of tweaking in Ryzen Master, I see max temps of 76c on AIDA64 and OCCT both on extreme settings (small FFT's, cache used, etc.). I have yet to even touch curve optimizer or scalar. I am blown away by how good this thing runs

 Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B550i. PSU: LianLi SP 750W (was a bit sketched out about this because of reddit threads but I went with it because of its price and so far its doing well, no fan curve issues.).

CPU Cooler: Scythe Fuma 2 set as rear intake (I was debating between this and the Veetro v5 and ended up with the fuma instead, CPU temps are stellar!). RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB 3600Mhz.
