SteelSeries Arctis 9 vs SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for Xbox

I never had an issue with the audio or microphone quality on the Arctis 9X. When I tested the 9, the noise-cancelling function worked well enough, blocking out the hum of my ancient air conditioner and desktop PC fans without degrading the sound too much. I do have some nitpicks with the design, though.

As previously mentioned, the sound only gets better when you start making tweaks in the frequency curve and make per game profiles. SteelSeries specs ...

It’s on the neutral side out of the box but that’s what I prefer in headsets and with the computer app you can customise your sound profile as you like it. Overall it isn’t the best sounding pair of headphones ever made but it’s really dang good. The headset offers excellent passive noise cancellation by forming a good seal around your ears. Which is excellent because I usually have a fan running in my game room and it’s nice that it doesn’t overpower the headset as the fan is quite loud

There's no reason in pointing out the specifics, it is just so bad all around. -The battery does not last as long as it says it does (They say it lasts 20 hours, but it's closer to 13-17ish hours. It does vary, strangely enough). -The volume wheel is very limited in the range of audio output

Update 10/24/22 Lowering my review by a star. One of my batteries stopped charging in the dock or via headset entirely; Steelseries solution? Replace my entire unit with a new one but first requiring manual destruction of the headset by forcing the customer to cut headset wires, because they don't have battery replacements yet. First of all, why on Earth would you create broken garbage when the environment is filled with it as it is? Is there absolutely zero consideration to be green at Steelseries? If you don't have replacement parts, why are you selling the headset to begin with? If this is your policy, then just send a new headset unit for whatever the defect may be; even if environmental and waste concerns weren't a problem, am I supposed to now wait for a new headset to ship while my single battery unit that would've worked just fine in the interim sits unusable for who knows how long? It's sad because Steelseries had a different policy when I owned the Arctis Nova Wireless, which was simply to send a replacement unit for my faulty existing one: the correct way to go about it. I'm not sure why the policy has changed since but I didn't pay the premium price in a gaming peripheral sector for this kind of service
