 This has more of an industrial look than the Jim Pro and hopefully we can get some really good thermal performance out of this because I am a big fan of passively cooled cases. If you're a regular viewer of my channel you know I've tested a bunch of them out. So inside of the box you're going to get the instruction manual. We'll also get the top plate here and this is pretty hefty

 Now one thing that was a bit odd when I first started doing some research on this case was the way it passively cools your Raspberry Pi. They include two little aluminum blocks here that will go on top of your Raspberry Pi and it will kind of sandwich between the Pi and the top of the case. And usually with these passively cooled cases for the Raspberry Pi this is built into the case so I'm not exactly sure why they chose to do this. Possibly it was easier to manufacture like this or they did some testing and it does cool better but we're going to find that out by the end here

 The first one being their Pi 4 Pro and the second one being one that I'm actually really interested in, the Jim Pro. Both of these cases are made out of aluminum so they passively cool your Raspberry Pi and there's no fan needed. At least that's what they state and we're going to be doing some testing here. I'm going to do a quick assembly on both of these but the first one we're going to be taking a look at is the Pi 4 Pro

 This is the aluminum top half of the case and as you can see this is the black version of the case and one thing I really like about both of these cases is they are full aluminum so the top half and the bottom section is aluminum. On a lot of these newer passively cooled cases there is a plastic bottom but here we have a full metal construction. What’s the word on self cooling cases?

The case I recieved had no slot cut out for access to the micro SD card. You have to put the SD card into your pi before installing it into the case. Installation involves thermal paste and pads, so changing the SD card after installation is messy. I also have the pi3 version of this case which does have SD card access I assumed this would too, but sadly it does not

Not too many room for GPIO cables

  The bad: I'm displeased that I cannot use my iVANKY Braided Micro HDMI (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087BV3XN7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) with it. No matter how I try with the cable (tight or loose to the Pi), no signal is picked up at the monitor

3V rail (nearly silent). Compiling the linux kernel would hit temps of 80-82C. With this GemPro case, max temp doing the same compile was 48C. Amazing difference

This case is well machined and provides great thermals through it's passive cooling. The IO lines up perfectly and the steps in the instructions were simple enough to follow. It's all fits together nice and snug.  My only complaints are that the case doesn't come with any non-slip rubber feet, so I had to stick my own on, and there isn't any included power button

Gorgeous and Robust

The case keeps my Pi from thermal throttling, but I had to cut some of the casing from the HDMI cable for it to function with my TV. The cable functioned just fine, without modification, with my monitor and my neighbor's TV; I also had to modify my standard PC power switch for it to fit on the pins in the case, without a riser.  Definitely recommend, if you're comfortable with a knife, and possibly still recommend otherwise!

You might have to mod a few things

This is a nice little Raspberry Pi case. I was using a case with a fan and thought that it did not do much to keep it cool but it did add noise. I wanted something that would keep it from getting too hot but that would be quiet. This case, which is easy to assemble, provides adequate cooling without the noise of a fan
