If you're on a tighter budget, the AKASO Brave 7 LE is a solid GoPro alternative that won't break the bank. Despite its relatively affordable price point, this camera feels well-built and has an IPX7 rating, so it can withstand being submerged in 1m of water for up to 30 minutes. For more extensive waterproofing, it also comes with a protective case that renders it waterproof to an advertised depth of 131 feet.

Like the GoPro HERO10 Black and GoPro HERO9 Black, this camera has a secondary front-facing screen that's helpful for vlogging. It has an intuitive menu system and a great battery life depending on what settings you use. You can also keep using it while it charges via USB-C, which is handy for longer shooting sessions. It can record 1080p video at up to 120 fps, which is great for slow-motion capture. Its stabilization feature does an excellent job of reducing camera shake in 1080p and works very well in 4k at slower speeds, though enabling it does incur a severe 1.6x crop, which is unfortunate.

The camera also has a lot of noticeable rolling shutter effects, causing distortion with vertical lines when panning rapidly from side to side. Video quality is also disappointing, whether you're shooting in 4k or 1080p. Its 4k frame rate options are also very limited, as it can only record 4k at 30 fps. Still, this is the best cheap action camera that we've tested for those looking for something sturdy and affordable.

The 4 Best Action Cameras - Spring 2022

. These "copies" are great and about half the price of the GoPro alternative. The AKASO is awesome due to the front faced screen, but for pure chest cam, get a Yi 4k/4k+ - they are rugged, reliable and shoot great quality footage.

I have both a Yi 4K (chest cam) and a AKASO Brave 7 LE (tripod) for when I am out, and I would never pay for a GoPro after owning these two... These "copies" are great and about half the price of the GoPro alternative

Affordable GoPro Alternative?

 I dont know 4k@30fps which is max resolution 4. The drawback is side of microsd card supported. 64GB isnt enough to capture continuous videos over the action filled weekend. 5

One of my favorite historic posts here is the unpopular opinion thread from a few years back. I thought an update for shitpost Sunday could be fun. What are some of your unpopular opinions or confessions?

Ill start-

-Probably pretty common, but I think super high contrast fades look absurd 

-i rip off most of my pocket arcs because I feel pretentious af advertising my $250 jeans and tbh, I don’t want to have a conversation about it irl

Edit: thanks everyone! I think these are great! Imo this sub can become an echo chamber and many of these diverse opinions feel like fresh air (hell, i feel like most of my wardrobe is brands catered by r/rawdenim which no one in real life has heard of. Lmao thats a bit embarrassing) 

Heres some more of mine-

- the whole trope of “legendary warrior”, “brutal demon”, “badass motorcycle gang” branding gets old quick. Especially when people baby their jeans. Like sure.... very badass jeans inspired by the most powerful samurai of all times, but no match for the washing machine.

- black jeans are better than blue

- i was wearing jeans, flannels, and boots way before i heard of americana, or gave a rats ass about clothes, but seeing so many ridiculous instagram influencers sometime makes me want to toss them all out

Unpopular Denim Opinion, 2020 edition

I was initially unhappy with this camera as the image stabilization wasn't able to cope with a choppy bike ride. I stuck with it as I didn't have enough time to get something else before baseball season, and I'm glad I did. Granted, for baseball the camera is stationary, so image stab isn't important. The quality is fantastic though
