I heard a lot of good things about the anker life q30 and Rtings says its the best BT ANC headphone under 100 bucks, but i must reiterate. Its the best bluetooth Active noise cancelling headphone under a 100 bucks.

I looked into a bunch of earbuds and have a bunch from 10$ ones to jabras &amp; airpod pros for over 150$. idk why but they dont work for me so i decided to look into headphones.  I looked into audio technica, sony, anker, etc. These headphones must have good noise cancellation, audio, battery life, yk. you guys are the pros. anything on amazon so i can go thru quick return if its an issue. thanks :)

I need BT headphones (under $100) for 2 purposes, gym and music. see below Thanks!

 My old headphones would say "Bluetooth connected successfully." I've turned on music on my tablet, not realizing the Bluetooth had been shut off, and woken my wife when music started blasting out the speakers. I had assumed the headphones had connected; verbal confirmation would have been nice. 6) I wish the drawstring bag with the cables was instead a pouch attached to the underside of the case cover

Not As I Expected

I can definitely see the appeal of the airpods max. I was always against Bluetooth, anc  ect. But I find myself using the anker soundcore Life q30 a lot more often now that my new phone has no headphone jack. Also convenient to just pick up and use

Bluetooth headphones definitely have their uses. I’m actually in the market for some rn because when I’m cleaning around the house a wire really gets in the way.

I know I'll be downvoted to hell but after my extensive journey I would still consider the airpod max's 'audiophile' quality.  They are very well tuned and present 90-95% of the detail you are going to get out of kilobuck headphones.  Diminishing returns hits hard.  If all you are doing is wanting to enjoy your music it'd be hard to not be able to call it a day with them.

Airpods Max - Obviously you're not getting the audiophile quality, but they sound surprisingly nice for casual listening. Obviously the main purpose for it is portability and active noise cancelling (which is amazing). If you travel a lot or work at open offices, these are great.

HD660S - Yes, the sound signature isn't as "flat" as 600/650 or whatever, but these have slightly more technically capable drivers and the sound signature that fits modern music better. They sound perfect (barring the lack of resolution compared to totl headphones like Utopia).

I don't know how else to describe their transparency mode other than to say that it's like not wearing headphones at all. The pass- through is not only perfectly natural but it remains directional. The AirPod Pro is a little more artifical sounding but still among the better ones. The Galaxy Buds Pro transparency mode overemphasizes background noise as almost static white noise. The AKG N700ncM2 kind of has transparency mode but it's still very withdrawn and muffled.

The only place I’ve ever benefited from noise cancelling was on a plane. Everywhere else the seal from my IEMs or closed backs was more than enough to drown out the background noise. Also I’d prefer a cable as it means no charging. I don’t think I’d use those Apple headphones if someone gave them to me for free.

They're both great. (Airpods Max / HD660S)

 The ambient sound mode that can be activated by tapping the right earcup is a nice little bonus at this price point, and other than an annoying vocal interruption to the music, it works well. These headphones will play for hours even with noise cancelling active, and charge over USB-C. Also, the three noise cancelling modes really do behave differently depending on your needs, it's just none of them work well enough to be useful.  Sadly, those few good points are just not enough to overcome the poor noise isolation/cancelling, poor fit and poor comfort issues I experienced

 So, when my current pair began to show signs of old age (split ear cushion, a battery that doesn't last as long as normal) I decided to purchase these newer Soundcore Q30 headphones as an updated, upgraded replacement.  Unfortunately, they're a rare disappointment from this Anker sub-brand. Whereas the Q20s punched way above their weight class — with noise cancelling and overall sound quality that was shockingly close to the high end products from Bose and Sony — these seem like they would be better suited at a price half of what they're charging.  The main attraction to these kinds of headphones, the noise cancelling part, is the biggest letdown

 Despite being lighter than the older model, they put pressure points on the top of my head and on my ears that made them uncomfortable to wear for more than a half hour. This lightness also meant they slid around if I turned my head side to side, which caused a lot of noise in noise cancelling mode.  I could mitigate the poor noise cancelling performance a little by gently pressing the earcups against my head, but that just made them even more uncomfortable. This is not an issue with the older, heavier and more padded Q20s

I had the Skullcandy crusher wireless for quite a while know. After 1.5 years they broke, but skullcandy sent me new ones for free. After they broke, I ordered spare parts from ebay and repaired the headphones. After these are falling apart now as well, I'd like to look for another model of wirless headphones I can buy.  
 

**Budget** \- \~200$. Am willing to go up to 400$, if it is worth it.

**Source/Amp** \- Wireless (Bluetooth) Want to be connected with my PC and sometimes to my phone, so I guess bluetooth headphones are the only option, right?

**How the gear will be used** \- Only at home. Don't need ANC, I guess. I can barely hear anything with my current headphones when I have them on and music is played at a moderate volume. I work from home and want to listen to music / videos in the background. I also enjoy watching movies with my headphones on and playing games (don't need a mic). 

**Preferred tonal balance** \- Nothing specific. Don't care I think.

**Past** **gear experience** \- Skullcandy crusher wireless. What I like: Bass-heavy, battery lasts long. What I don't like: Connecting to bluetooth devices is kind of a hassle sometimes, but OK. Pretty heavy and not the best in comfort. Sound quality isn't the best. They break easily.  
I also listened to music with the sennheiser momentum 3 wireless some days ago. Sounded great.

Extra bonus:  
I have an electric piano and use some cheap $30 headphones for it. I can't use the Skullcandy headphones, bc when I plug them in, the sound volume is too low. Is that because the impedance is too high? Are there maybe bluetooth headphones for my use-case that I can also hook up to my e-piano (with a cable).
