You don’t get anonymity when using an AirTag, you get privacy, there’s a difference. The AirTag has to be tied to an AppleID, which you can only make with a phone number, etc. That AppleID would be signed into an Apple device that would also easily ID you… again Apple never said you get use it anonymously.

**The AirTag fits snug and rattle-free. Is about a five-minute install process provided you have a philips screwdriver and some snips to remove the plastic.

To me, this makes a lot of sense as there’s no way Apple would intentionally misfire this intentionally. In the case of the AirTag, FindMy was opened up first, and then Apple released a product.

Just providing the info to law enforcement is going to be huge. Even with a fake iTunes account to tie the AirTag to (for extreme stalking), it's going to have info on the cell phone location, etc just from looking up the AirTag. Great move by Apple.
