While I feel the same frustrations others do about the software not really having many 'Pro' apps, I went with the higher end M1 model anyways because I know Apple has a super solid history of supporting their products for years to come after launch with major updates like iPadOS 15 still coming to products as old as the iPad Air 2 from October 2014 (that's 7 years!). While I'm purchasing the device with no expectations that the software will significantly change, I am still holding a little bit of hope that future updates offer more improvements.

For me it’s not too big, however if all you’re doing is watching movies and not gaming, the s6 is a 10” super amoled that’s well overqualified for simple media consumption although you’d have to get it used/refurbished. I also have an air 2 (I use it to test new beta versions of IPadOS).
