. It'S fast and responsive.. It works great across apps that supported it, and it generally makes the iPad feel like much more than just a consumption device

 I felt less rude using it in meetings than my phone or my laptop, and I was less bothered by the many limitations on iOS 12, because the mini is so obviously a secondary, computer. And iOS devices have been getting increasingly complicated and expensive lately and reviewing them. Often feels like I have to figure out if they're worth the huge cost premium. Reviewing the mini, on the other hand, has been really fun because it's obviously worth $ 399

. I didn't encounter any slowdowns or lags, as I edited photos in Lightroom, played a few games and tried a couple AR demos.. The mini runs the same iOS 12 as other iPads, which means you can multitask on a mini which is hilarious on a screen

 If you are the sort of person who wants a powerful small tablet, the new iPad mini is the best choice. Full stop.. I mean it's basically the only choice

The Pencil is a little too long, proportionately, for the iPad mini. Its pressure and tilt sensitivity come through clearly in apps like Procreate, and its responsiveness is great for taking notes, but for simple tasks like signatures, you should probably get a cheaper capacitive stylus. For what it's worth, when I compare the Pencil here with the second-generation Pencil on an 11-inch iPad Pro, I can definitely see the difference. We measure screens using SpectraCal's CalMAN for Business software and a Klein K-80 colorimeter. As a first time tablet buyer I first bought an inexpensive 10 inch android tablet but it began operating erratically very quickly so I returned it and found this iPad mini 5 at a good price from Walmart. It was the right choice for me. Walmart does a good job with shopping apps and order fulfillment. The iPad is a nice piece of gear and Im happy with the style, function and performance

Overall a quality tablet experience

It's not new like I expected.

Just not an Apple girl

Fits very nicely in my hand like an oversized kindle and I enjoyed reading a library ebook on the kindle app with the font size blown up.  Great for having in a bag when I’m going around town on errands and can hook up on a WiFi to browse the web or email.   Much better for extended use than an iPhone.  Should be great for travel since it is smaller than the regular iPad
