 Just the oils from your hands and things make it wear over time. Now some people like that, some don't but if you don't like that, you probably should look at a different leather case quite honestly. So Apple has this case for the XS and I have the XS right here so let's slide this on and you'll see it fits nicely right here. It does leave the bottom open so you do have that, but you have access to your sleep wake buttons and then on this one as opposed to the silicone case

 I guess you could, but it doesn't really fit properly so you probably don't want to use a 10 case with it now. Also, if you bought one of those really expensive hundred dollar leather flip cases from Apple, unfortunately, the same thing applies here so you're going to have a little notch there where it's sticking over. It seems like it might fit a little bit better. If you push your finger down under there, you get away with it a little better

I've dropped it multiple times and it's protected my phone and the scratches will buff out pretty well. THere's always going to be scuffs and scratches for an item that will be used all the time like a personal phone so I can't expect it to look brand new out of the box

It seems to be a legit case. I’ve owned a few other apple leather cases and this one seems to be on par with those. I have noticed the up and down volume keys are touchy. You have to press the top of the up button on the case so it doesn’t press both on the phone

 Laying the case flat on the table with the phone in it and you can see how the case corner is bent out on the back. Pretty pricy case for such poor fit but the exchange process thus far is painless.

Updated, I requested a replacement in red and got it right away. Perfect fit. Prior was simply a factory defect but the vendor honored the replacement request without issue.  Prior Review:  I put my iPhone into the case and the bottom left of the case would not wrap up around

This is a great quality case, I've always gotten the leather iPhone cases for all of my Apple devices when I can. They're soft, durable, and age well. I enjoy it a lot. It does scratch and scuff a bit easily, but it is soft leather and they will buff out in time giving it a nice aged look to the leather
