Arbor A-Frame

As of two seasons ago, I finally have my A Frame, and it is incredible. Added a second Arbor, the Single, to my quiver this offseason and my wife will be learning on a Poparazzi Rocker next season. I absolutely love my Gnu as well; but if I had to commit to one brand of boards forever, it would be Arbor without hesitation or regret. Their styling is gorgeous, all their tech works as advertised, and their build quality is phenomenal.

Add the **Arbor A-frame** to that list. These are aggressive, hard charging boards, with full camber. The kind of boards that, if you ride them while tired or trying to be lazy, will fling you onto your ass and give you a concussion before you even notice.

I'm biased; but I'd recommend the Arbor A Frame. Directional carver that'll handle groomers and pow when you find it.

Fast forward to today: brand new 2020 A Frame 162 and Flow NX2s to go with my new Ride Anchor boots, all ready for as much backcountry carving as I can throw at it. Ever since I, as a preteen, saw Amber at a ski convention in Rosemont, IL and told my dad "I want THAT one" I have been a huge fan of Arbor, both aesthetically and how they run their company.

You'll want a stiffer possibly directional board with a full camber (or at least mostly like a libtech c3 profile). Arbor A-frame, Burton Custom X, and lib tech ejack knife come to mind. Length depends on your weight and specific board, if you have a US size 11+ foot you should consider a wide model so you can carve deeper without booting out. If your slopes have a tendency to get icy, get something with edge tech like a lib tech ejack or gnu mullair.

Arbor Single 152 is my vote. Just got one myself, Evo has them on sale for about $370 for last seasons' model. Not sold as such, but is effectively a volume shifted board. I own wider boards because for my size, my feet are big at 10.5 and I carve a lot and hate toe/heel drag.

If you don't go into the park or ride much switch that board is going to be hard to beat, I looked a long time for something that fits size 12 boots that I could layover on a euro carve. The only other two boards I would consider are Jones Flagship and Arbor A frame but those need to be like 165/169 or a 170 for the width I wanted and I could get even wider on a 160 backwoods, you might want the extra length or maybe not.

My daily freeride/big mountain driver is an Arbor A Frame 162. Works in moguls, but less than ideal for sure being so damn stiff and long. The Headspace is camber dominant, but has some rocker between the inserts which makes it a bit less catchy and more playful/agile. Also a true (asym) twin which is nice for when changing lines by going switch is better/more fun.
