 It has a little bit of a lifted contact points in the nose and the tail, which is going to help you with some edge catch and make it just a little bit more playful and forgiving. The flex of this board, most of our testers said, was a little bit on the stiffer side. This is a directional board and it has a little bit of taper running from the nose down to the tail, so the nose is just going to be a hair wider than the tail, which is going to help give it a little extra float in powder. On the edge of the board, right by the bindings, you're going to see something that Arbor calls their grip tech, where the edges come out of the board just a little bit, which is going to help with some toe and heel drag, and it's also going to give you some extra heavy contact points, which is just going to let you hold an edge a lot better

I like to carve and I’m not a big park rider but in enough powder I’ll try to have some fun. Already have a backcountry set up so just looking to get a new all-mountain board this year. Advanced rider board preferences

 So it's middle of the road in the nose and stiffens back up through the tail. It's got a mid-flex torsional give, which really lets you center flex the board and steer it just how you need to, but it's still stable enough to bust through heavy end of the day chunder for just plowing around, for going out in the pow, for buttering if you need to on the nose. It's one of those flex patterns that, yeah, it's more freeride oriented, but you can still have fun with it. You can still pop off things

I'm just doing the video portion because he's lazy, but that's another story for another time, is a reflection of all the years of his riding in one. That's why it's camber dominant.  Jones and Arbor boards also have sidecut disruptions/bumps to help with edge hold in firmer condition, but not as aggressive bumps as Magnetraction. The Flagship/Ultra Flag have more rocker to be more relaxed if necessary, but can still charge like a missile.

I'm looking for a new snowboard after nearly 20 years of having the same gear.

My current board is a Burton Raven 161 which I bought in early the 2000's and it's been my only board since. It's so old, it pre-dates Web 2.0 so there's very little about it on the internet, except for buy/sell shit. I love this board because it's stiff, is a true twin and is fast, like very fast. My last speed record I hit 78kph (48.4mph) and I get there very quick. Even my buddy tried it and couldn't believe how quick it is.

I know the new gear is way better in all ways possible than my dated shit so I can't go wrong buying new but I have a fear that any board I get will be too different from mine, from a high-speed stability point of view and I'm either going to kill myself or I'll hate the ride characteristics.

I'm looking at the T-Rice Pro at 161W as it just seems to be a killer board all around but I'm not too savvy with the new tech like C2 profile and the new building process. I've seen Travis Rice go crazy fast so I figure it's good at high speed, but news flash folks, I ain't Travis rice.

With that said, I've been trying to ride switch all last season and I'd like to stick with a true twin to keep getting better. I'm also going to start trying jumps and features like boxes which I tried last with mixed results. (3 months later, back still hurts lol)

Anyone with experience on the T-Rice Pro? I love the serrated edge tech and I would like a wider board than my Raven because I often boot out during real steep traverse's. I like the idea of any new board being lighter but I'd also like a stiff yet not too stiff board so I can learn butters. Current board too stiff but still wanting high speed stability.

Question about new tech, from an old rider

 I can put all my weight into the board and still has a lot of pop to it. It's a directional shape so the nose is longer than the tail, has 15 millimeters of taper, has a cool little tail shape here. This board's been ridden in the test so it's a little bit, you can see the marks on it, it's been ridden a little bit. Really cool tail shape

 That one groomer section we had, I had some really good carves with this and I was like, okay, you know, I feel that, I feel all that camber and I put my weight as hard as I could between my feet and just drove out of it and it was fun. But that carving turn where we like to do, where you like to lean onto your back foot, that's where it would sometimes wash on me. Where you will completely feel it wash out. And although a much better rider who's very used to that will be able to weight themselves differently, but someone who's not expecting it or someone who's just like, oh, I've never tried an arbor board and you hand it to them, you're going to see them try and go for a carve and get some surprise slips

 I feel like I'm kind of in between the 56 and the 59. I think both could work if you want faster, quicker turn initiation and a little easier board to throw around, and you're specked like me, the 56 will work.
