 Hey everybody, Nick here and today I got a review for you of this little guy right here. This is the Benchmade Knives Mini Bugout, a smaller variant of a knife design that I think I liked more than I let on, the bug out there. So I'm looking forward to doing the review here. First off though, I want to thank very much my buddy, Tony, over at Everyday Commentary as well as GearGeeksLive

 I was not expecting to love this knife. In fact, I was expecting to be a little bit like, eh, but this is the best thing Benchmade's done in a while. It really, really is good. Part of this could be my own bias about size

 This is lighter and more compact than the original bug out, it's for me at least better in the hand and a little better in the pocket, and honestly, the smaller size does make this thing feel a lot more solid. And so while on the original bug out, it was a good knife, and I think it's probably a better knife than I gave it credit for in my review, I really like this guy. And coupled that with a surprisingly reasonable price, and the fact that this one, fresh from a retailer, is damn near perfect after I put a little bit of love into it, I got to say, this is a gem. I like this knife a lot

 It is bright freaking orange, it can't be customized on their website yet, the grind isn't awesome, the factory assembly was really disappointing, it's got some lock stick, potentially because of that titanium issue, and it is going to definitely be a little bit small for some people, but I love it. I love this knife a lot. The original bug out, look, in a lot of ways, I was probably.

Today, we'll take a look at a knife that's proof that sometimes, less is more, and enjoy the shrunken size and improved solidity of the Benchmade Mini Bugout.

Do you even bring a knife?

This knife is lightweight and smaller than I expected. It fits well in my bag or pocket without adding too much weight. I like the axis lock for a tight blade lock and easy unlock. The white color is perfect for finding it in my bag

.. I feel like the line of expensive and inexpensive is right about at 75 bucks. Most people consider under 75 or under 50 to be inexpensive

 This knife is overpriced, but I can still recommend it. And I know that that's probably stings a little bit in your ear holes. You're like, what? Ugh, can we even try this? He doesn't like the bug out for the most part and he thinks it's overpriced, but he's still going to recommend it to us. Who is this guy? Yeah, I'm aware of what I'm saying and I'm aware of the contradiction, but it is a pretty good knife

 Let's go ahead and get a measurement on this guy. The overall length, and by the way, there's going to be links down in the description for the mini bugout if you guys want to check it out. Overall length coming in at six and a half inches, blade length coming in at under three inches. What a choice, people who live in odd areas that restrict blade length like that, and then cutting edge is just shy of 2
