Big Berkey with Black Berkey Filters

The filters should work for a few years at least (or more) before you have to replace them, and they filter out pretty much all the stuff that's bad for you (plus viruses, chemicals, and plastic contamination.) There are also fluoride filters you can get to go with them which are about 50% effective (fluoride is extremely difficult to remove- the 50% reduction is the best of any filter out there) but the regular Berkey filters (black berkey filters... because the color they are is black) don't remove fluoride.

Price on this has definitely gone way up. Might be time to start considering alternatives or considering buying from questionable Chinese amazon sellers. I love my Berkey! Ive had it for 4 years and its paid for itself. I have 0 complaints, def one of the best purchases ive ever made. Im a huge water snob and this passes my test. Highly recommend.

These filters look and feel poorer in quality than what I usually get from Berkey. The primer washer was missing from the package as well, which made it very challenging to prime before use.

The filter is great and even raises my waters ph to neutral but I don't get anywhere close to 6,000 gallons before needing replacement! Somewhere around 1,000 probably.
