 Let's go! We will now unbox a Rio Champion. It is chosen to be the best value product, with the features and quality it brings at a price of just $50. We're following our tasks one by one, unboxing comes first. Package is good, things inside are tidy and well packed

 The cable seems to be long enough, and although recommended to be the chosen one, I've been using my current wiring without troubles. The adhesive tapes are also available in the packaging. We now focus on the camera itself. It is relatively small, looks good and doesn't attract your attention on it too much

 As for sound quality, although there are a lot of remarks in the forums, it is alright in my opinion, maybe too much gain, but I can easily rate this microphone better than most of the action cameras I'm reviewing on this channel. After having used the B1W for a few days, it works fine, super easy to set up and zero troubles so far. And I haven't told you the best part yet, Blue Sky Sea have a representative monitoring popular review websites like Dash Cam Talk and she, her name is Vicky by the way, she does an outstanding job answering questions and helping you to get better results. And through this review I'd like to help the Blue Sky Sea team

 If it's a hot day, I recommend taking it out of the car (or at least removing it from the window mount) if you plan to leave the car for a long time.  The video quality is okay. You can't really see most of the license plates clearly, but otherwise decent camera quality. The cam has voice prompts to let you know if the SD card is properly installed and formatted, and it will let you know when the device starts and stops recording

 In our previous picks, the camera would not be able to warn drivers when it wasn't recording. We read many comments where drivers only found out once they got into an accident, yikes. As all cards eventually stop working, the B1W gives much better protection versus our previous choices. Looking at video quality, we found a slight reduction in details compared to our former picks

 These notifications are in accented English, but it's mostly understandable. We're hoping this improves, as Blue Sky Sea has done a good job of taking feedback and making improvements to the firmware. One example is how quickly they fixed the firmware to detect failed SD cards. I have 4 broken cards, and only 2 would trigger a warning message

 We found a 3 minute file takes 3 minutes to download. Once setup was finished, we looked at how the B1W performs day to day. While driving, if you see something interesting or get into an accident, we found it was easy to lock the file from being overwritten by hitting the large lock button on the side of the camera. It also uses spoken status alerts, which lets you know when your camera is recording

BlueSkySea B1W Review - Cheapest Dash Cam We Can Recommend!

Viofo A119 V3 would be at the top of your price range, but wouldn't leave any extra cash for a good SD card and (if you want it) a hardwire kits. Blueskysea B1W looks to be about $57 USD on Amazon right now and is a good camera that would leave $$$ in your budget for the other items. If it were me, I'd go with the B1W so you can get a good Endurance SD card that can withstand being overwritten many times.

So as stated in the title I am looking to obtain a dashcam after I have had a few close calls inside my truck recently. I want peace of mind and a friend of mine used to have one and he said it was something that saved him a bunch. Originally I was looking at the recommendations and I found that the B1W looks like a decent price for good footage quality and compatibility with my phone. 

I wanted to know if this is indeed a truly good one in your guy's experience or if I should up my budget a bit and look around the $100 dollar range? Looking for just a front camera, and open to the increase in the budget I just don't wanna commit and get one that turns out to just be plain bad.

Advice On Dashcam After Close Call

Started off rough but got it mostly working

 It will spin round and round. So that's quite handy. You could, should you wish, have it pointed back inside the car to film what's going on in there. On the one hand there's the power input, the micro USB and also the slot for the micro SD card which can be up to 64GB

 So I'm going to put the memory card in first, then we'll plug the power in. The power will automatically fire up it to record it. If it's got a SD card, it does make a little announcement, say SD card found, recording or something like that and then you see the green lights will flash. So then we connect it with WiFi, a fairly standard dashcam password of 123

 Is it the best dashcam you can buy for £50? Now I can't be sure because I've not tested that many dashcams for £50 but to me it seems like a really good buy for £50. You know if you're just looking to spend a small amount of money to give yourself that little peace of mind that you know that things are being recorded, I think it's not a bad option. I mean at £50 you can get one for the front and one for the back. That seems like a really good buy to me

Great size, easy to use but won't stay stuck to my windshield

 We were able to trigger this by shutting the vehicle doors, so I altered the sensitivity of the sensor within the app. The camera did a great job of recording clear footage during both day and night times. Videos were crisp enough to determine license plates on street signs, and the audio was clear too, though it did pick up a fair amount of engine noise. If you managed to accidentally rename the WiFi network, and the password, customer support are pretty good at getting things taken care of
