Bobsweep PetHair Plus Review

 -bOb seems to use Dr. Who's randomizer to clean. He doesn't seem to map a room and go to work he goes around but gets most things off the floor. -bOb is kind of loud when he does his job for an hour each day, so we need to find ourselves elsewhere when he works

 He had a code on his display that meant I had to remove and clean his brush. I found some dog hair had made it to his bin but most was jammed in the path from the brush to the bin. Since the hair couldn't make it to the bin once that path filled, the hair fouled the brush. So I pulled the brush off and cleared all the hair and sent bOb back on his way

So week one impressions, bOb Le Sweep as I call him, has a slight drinking problem because he's a little on the "slow" side. I have wood/tile floors with 2 thick tufted rugs (less than 1" fibers") and I have a 70lb Shepherd/Boxer mix, so she sheds a lot. Knowing that this unit is not meant for heavy soiling, but instead a good "maintenance" option, here we go: 1.) Tile/Wood: does an absolutely excellent job

bObsweep has a drinking problem

 I put new batteries in twice, but it would only work if you were standing next to it and holding the remote about 2 foot above it. The page says the battery should last and hour and 15 mins. Mine would die after 30 mins every time. Part of me loved the thing

 Mine never lasted more than 30 mins, the remote only works if you're within 2ft from it, it never once found it's way to the charger on it's own. And the suction wasn't what I was hoping it would be. I think I will try my luck with a roomba. Until then I am back to pulling out the big vacuum every other day

After more than 2 month usage here are my thoughts about it.  Good: - Big capacity - Suction is good, always it brings lots and lots of cat fur. - Easy to operate - Has remote control (only used once) - Not expensive - It is fun to watch it moving back to charging station.  Negative - Never think of scheduling a cleaning unless you have a house/flat which has no tables, no chairs, no low furnutire, no cables, no small heights (like between rooms) you will always, always find it stuck somewhere when you return

 - It tries to go into narrow places and really pushes itself and get stuck. It might be good that he tries a bit but it pushes too much deeper in very narrow places and it even damages paintjob. - Mop of it is very useless as it is very small if you wish to use it for cleaning your place, it will only move the dirt from one room to another or you need to move with it and clear the mop every 3 minutes. - Very noisy - Charging unit is too light and not stable

When you are offered an item cheap it is better to be suspicious

 Stand by what I wrote below--go with a Neato if you are looking in this price range.  I bought this as part of the 2017 Prime Day after researching literally every single other robot vacuum for sale in the $200-$600 price range. I used to own a Neato Pet vacuum that lasted about two years. Based on my research, I think that is about the current shelf life of this technology - two years

 Kind of frustrating when it cleans like 3 passes of a room and then goes to the next one.  I am impressed with the battery life, functions, and cleaning power. If I had to do it again, I'd get another Neato.

 The mop attachment is actually pretty lame, but cool to have for almost no extra money. It's a little Swiffer pad you attach to the bottom, but if it is mopping, it needs to be supervised and you'll need to continue to wet the attachment or spray cleaner on the floor for it. After about 10 minutes I'd say it's just pushing dirt around the floor.  This guy has yet to make it back to its docking station after it cleans

Not bad for the money but there are better

 We have him start running at 8am and runs for about 45 minutes (which is battery expectancy per charge). He vacuums all dust, dirt, and hair really well. The extended "wisps" grab the dust bunnies and hair very easily as he runs the walls. He is tall, but is able to run under almost all cabinets and beds

 I had to send the unit in for service twice and the customer service I received was stellar. Every email ever sent was responded to within 1 business day, I received notification from the representative for status changes, they followed up each time to make sure the unit was working to my satisfaction, and have done everything possible to make sure it is working properly (see updates below). The only deduction is a half-star for reasons noted at the bottom of the review. Update 2 (9/01/16): After he arrived, I charged him overnight and the next day when we ran him, we found that while his cleaning and movement was back up to par, he could no longer properly dock

 I ended up choosing this model for a few different reasons. The primary were the efficiency for cleaning pet hair and the cost. This model is approximately $200 less than the Roomba. What also makes this the best choice is the customer service

Fantastic Robotic Vacuum, Great Capacity and Dust/Pet Hair Cleaning!

We bought this BobSweep Pet Hair vacuum in January 2019. We're writing this review in December 2020; less than two years since our purchase.  Since then it's been generally a good vacuum as far as non-smart vacuums go. We would usually run Bob every day when we stepped out, which would improve the chances that Bob would cover all of the room

  In fairness, Bob Sweep did agree to honor the 5-Year Subsidized Warranty which allows us to buy the parts we need at a reduced price, but the issue we're dealing with here should have been honored by the 2-Year portion of their advertised warranty. Had we known to buy the vacuum from an "authorized" dealer, we would have been covered under the 2-year warranty that the company advertises.  Our recommendation is that if you choose to buy a BobSweep, do some homework and make sure your purchase will be honored by the company. We plan to purchase the parts we need and continue to use our Bob until the end of its useful life, but because of the "gotcha" with the warranty, we'll find another company for our next robot vacuum

All in all, I am pretty pleased with my purchase. I feel that he does a pretty decent job in lightweight vacuuming. I would not recommend him for doing any type of heavy duty cleaning because for one, if the space is rather large, he may or may not get to the area to vacuum and if he does get to it, there is no guarantee that he is going to get all of it up seeing that his vacuuming does not seem to follow a pattern
