I was expecting 500$ to be honest, maximum. I guess they own Beats and they wanted to appeal to the high end+ market so that there are no collision with other products. If I were searching for an over-ear headphone: Bose 700 or the Sony XM4 all the way, I gladly choose a "toy" that costs way less whilst offering SOLID performance over something that expensive, regardless of how much I like Apple products.
