For a pair of computer speakers that checks all the boxes, we recommend the Bose Companion 2 Series III Multimedia. We have one small gripe with this model — you must power it with an AC plug source.  Just know you are sacrificing some sound quality in my opinion. The Bose are noticeably more flat sounding than the Yamaha's. However, if you don't listen to them side by side, I'm sure it won't matter to you. The Yamaha Speakers sound amazing, but for more money

  CONCLUSION: While both speakers are great, they both have their pros and cons. If you really don't want to spend well over $100 for desktop speakers, go for the Bose. Just know you are sacrificing some sound quality in my opinion. The Bose are noticeably more flat sounding than the Yamaha's

These have been a perennial favorite on Amazon for a long, long time for under 100 bucks for people looking for a great desktop speaker on a budget. Now, as a disclaimer, I pay for these speakers my own funds. No one has reviewed this video prior to posting and all opinions are my own

But if you're looking for very airy, spacious sound from a compact package from a quality brand, well, I think these are going to be pretty tough to beat. Why are These $99.00 Speakers So Popular? Bose Companion 2 Series III

 The bass was non-existent so not sure why others are saying it has great bass. It's not overpowering but it's really not even there. If the price was maybe $50, these would be great but not for $150. Returned and will keep my existing system

Meh.  Okay computer speakers

1 speaker surround sound for the TV that is WAY better so again - I didn't get these to listen to music on regularly. Now that said, I have trouble determining how these are in any way better than the $30 TCL 2.1 Alto Soundbar I got for my bedroom from during Black Friday. In fact the soundbar may have been a better option sound-wise - but due to space limitations I would have had to mount a soundbar behind my monitor - that seemed like too much

I really looked at a lot of speakers for computers - it was between these and the Creative ones but the Creative ones had some auto-off feature causing missed notification sounds - so I got these. So I am generally happy with the way they LOOK - important because my home office is in the corner of my living room and they look nice on the ladder bookshelves on each side of my desk - due to the cabinet design. I like the prominence of the Bose logo, makes them acceptable looking for the setting of within a refined living room. They are great for video games, my main goal was to have computer sound that I could hear over the sound of my 12000btu air conditioner

I haven't really ran these wide open yet to see what kind of sound I get at higher volumes, but so far they've been sufficient for what I need them for. They replaced a set of klipsch 2.1 speakers with a subwoofer. I had that thing for over 13 years, but tended to have issues here and there with one side cutting out or the wires needing replaced

 It's got a good thump but I don't think I have them dialed in quite right yet as far as EQ goes.  The price is a bit steep compared to the klipsch, and I don't think they're THAT much better, but you don't have to have room for a subwoofer under your desk, so that's a plus.  I like em so far.

I bought these to replace an old set of Bose Companion 2 series 2 speakers. (The right cone let go on the old set). I read the reviews on this new series 3 and I honestly do not think the 3's are any better than the 2's. Matter of fact, the volume control on the new ones feel cheap! The old set felt very smooth and solid
