Boss Waza Craft DM-2W Delay Pedal - The Best BOSS Delay Ever?

 Now if we move that forward, we'll get the short delay time. And of course you can set it anywhere in between that you like. This allows you to change the delay time in real time as you're playing. You can also get some great special effects with this, because as you move the pedal, if it's sounding a repeat, you'll get a change in the pitch

 That's a nice, rich sounding analog delay. Really sits well with the notes, but it has a little bit more articulation than in standard mode. With the delay time all the way up, we'll have about 800 milliseconds of delay time. With 800 milliseconds of delay time, the DM2W is great for those soaring lead tones where you really want it to sing and you really want it to get that big grand effect out of the pedal

 Now the DM2W features those extended Waza features. There are two modes of operation, standard mode and custom mode. In standard mode you get up to 300 milliseconds of delay time, in custom mode it jumps up to 800 milliseconds and you get a clearer, slightly brighter sounding delay. In addition to the extended delay time, we also have some custom control features as well

 Let's check this pedal out. I own a vintage DM3 pedal, which is the generation after the original DM2, and I can tell you that this DM2W in standard mode sounds very much like that original analog pedal. It has that warm, almost dark sound that really allows the delays and echoes to sit behind your playing very comfortably. They don't get messy, it doesn't get muddy, they really sit perfectly when you're playing a lead line or when you're playing a rhythm

 So you turn this knob toward the right to increase the number of repeats, turn it all the way to the left, single delay is heard. So you can get that kind of slap back feel if you want to there. And then, as I've said before, the thing that makes this pedal really stand out is this little switch here, and that switches the tonal character of the delay. So in S mode, standard, that's the original tone of the DM-2

 Low fidelity delay supports your straight up guitar sound, making your guitar sound better. So, if that's your thing, that may be your thing. Number three, there are two selectable modes. You think maybe that should have been number two

BOSS Delay WAZA CRAFT DM-2w - Demo & Review

The day this pedal arrived, I put it on my small pedal board and practiced for about 2 hours with a band I'm in. My hope was to use it as a slight slap back echo with the occasional longer delay time there if need be.

.)in my 30 years of playing but I have never experienced this type of high frequency oscillation from any other pedal. 

For the last 4 years I have been using a Free The Tone Flight time delay and have owned a plethora of digital and analog delay pedals( wampler, Digitech, Ibanez, joyo, catalinbread, Empress, echosex2, baby echosex, custom echosex2, etc...)in my 30 years of playing but I have never experienced this type of high frequency oscillation from any other pedal

I was looking at analog styled delays as that is the sound I wanted.  I have an older Boss Digital Reverb/Delay but the delay on its own is limited so I opt to use it for the reverb.

I was considering the MXR Carbon Copy, but the Boss Waza Craft Delay is much more lush and natural to my ear when a note or chord is decaying.  The attention to detail is what really gives it character and the sounds are amazing.

 They sit absolutely brilliantly in a mix without ever muddying up the clarity of any part. The oscillation is just as warm and massive. I have yet to use an expression pedal with it, but for my neighbor's sake, it's probabky a good thing. I will take this over any other boutique delay out there as my primary delay

I don't know what it is that separates the Boss DM-2w from all other analog delays I've heard or played, but it's definitely something. The repeats are dark and warm but not lost. Best Analog Delay

I really enjoyed using this pedal. The standard mode is a very subtle delay, but can be dialed in to a room or hall reverb on the lower delay settings and with the repeats turned up. The standard mode also has a nice slapback delay. On the custom mode the pedal really shines, it allows you to get much longer, but just as warm delays
