 I'm taking a look at this Yes, it's very small. She said it's the Boss Katana Mini, a battery powered amp and I've heard lots of good stuff about it, so let's check it out right after this intro. [Music] All right, so the Boss Katana Mini It costs just over a hundred Euros here in Europe and which is roughly just over $110 I think something like that I'm not sure what it costs in the States It has an input which is handy. It has a power switch which is also very handy

[GEAR] Amp or sound card?

 I bought the Boss Katana Mini more recently, not to compare with the Blackstar, necessarily, but for something a bit different.  The Boss Katana Mini is billed as 7 watts, and I think much of that is in the 'brown' channel, which is noticeably louder than the other two channels, the clean channel and the crunch channel.  Bottom line, I really like the clean channel here, but I'm underwhelmed by the crunch and 'brown' channels, which sound ordinary to my ears. They sound flat, the bass is a bit dull, and the gain doesn't have much of an edge to it

 The clean sound of the two amps is about equal, and the Blackstar's crunch channel--although not spectacular--is better voiced than the Boss and more fun to play through.  The Katana Mini is, in my opinion, overpriced for what it delivers.

  The Katana Mini has a three-band EQ, which is nice, and it also has a pretty good delay section, which I set to a very slight slapback sound.  I'll be honest--I prefer the Blackstar Fly 3 over the Katana Mini. The clean sound of the two amps is about equal, and the Blackstar's crunch channel--although not spectacular--is better voiced than the Boss and more fun to play through.  The Katana Mini is, in my opinion, overpriced for what it delivers

 Let's start off in the clean channel. so I've got the actual toggle switch down I put the volume and the gain at about three o'clock [Music] That's both pickups. Let's try Neck [Music] Sans Olsen sounds like a great clean, gentle let's see how it sounds me. I was a little less moods and a little less Tribble Let's try it now of the game

 This amps not super loud, but it's the perfect little amp if you're going to take to a friend's place and just have a jam. this would do the job easily. Another thing that I love about this is how simple it is. There's not a whole lot of options, no reverb, just simple delay on the top, a 3-band EQ, and three different types of tones

 It could get expensive fast, so maybe by some rechargeable batteries if you choose not to actually get the power supply. But but for me, this is a really great amp for using at home. I Think it sounds way better than I was expecting I Kind of expected it to sound like a toy, but it actually sounds like an amp. Even with the drive all the way up on that Brown sound setting, you're still getting actual note Definition: It's not getting fizzy or weird

 they still sound kind of rich. It's pretty cool. [Music] [Applause] Man that rocks. That's a lot of fun

[Question] Which amp to choose from the below?

 I wanted some sound if I played it outside. It came with 6 AA batteries. It is portable. 9"Lx5"Hx4"W I tried my electric guitar on it, and its not as good as people say! It is not that loud

 I'm gonna have the the time about halfway up and I'm gonna turn the level all the way up so you can hear this. I'm going to put my pickup in the middle position [Music] [Music] I think that's just a sparkling cool delay and clean tone combination. Now I've turned the delay off. Now I'm going to flip the switch up here to crunch

 So now we've talked about the amazing sound and the portability. Now let's talk about the price. Full disclosure: I bought this amp with my own money off of Amazon. So another option that I think you should think about is you can buy this amp with 12 double a rechargeable batteries and a charger all shipped to your door be about 145

 Okay, what other amps are in that price range and I just showed you the Fender Champion 20 is at that point, the smaller amp. How does it compete with a bigger amp? I actually want to do a review comparing the Fender Champion 20 with the Boss Katana Mini with the power supply. right now, i have a cheap 15 watt yamaha amp that breaks up whenever i turn it up high, and that just won’t cut it. i want a bigger, but affordable amp that will play well at small-medium gigs. the genres i play are mostly  grunge, alternative rock and shoegaze. does anyone have any suggestions?

i need a new amp [GEAR]

 But it produces inspiring, room-filling sounds that defy logic. I didn't want something with a ton of effects, and this only has a delay which can get you a small room reverb, slapback or a longer delay with a few repeats. I prefer reverb, but this works fine to give some ambiance.  The EQ works pretty well, but you don't get a huge amount of variance - this will never produce huge bass, but it can give you pleasingly warm, larger-than-expected guitar sounds

 You could be heard if you tried to busk with it, but even dimed the volume isn't substantial - but it's plenty loud for what it's intended to be.  This is exactly what I wanted - it sounds great and is very portable. I now plug in to practice in places where I used to just play an unplugged electric guitar. It makes practice more fun, and I find I'm practicing more

Hello. Before i start I am not a native English speaker so, sorry for it, and i am not an guitar expert thus i don't know about these terms so much. I've learnt these from the internet.
 I am looking for cheap stratocaster sss type electric guitar for learning. But i also want to practice Metal and Rock songs with that guitar. For that I want a distortion effect.
 I've found several guitars and sets for a decent price. But the amplifiers in all of them are cheap and they don't have gain knobs, they only have an Overdrive button. Plus I don't have enough money for expensive and decent amfis that have gain knobs and other fancy stuff. I can't afford a pedal either.
So my question is, can I play Metal and Rock songs (like Metallica - Enter Sandman) with fine enough distortion with only knock-off sss Stratocaster and an overdrive button?
