 So anyway, to get back into mode one, all you need to do is to unplug the pedal. If you find yourself in that situation, you press the pedal, you hold it, you stick the cable in, see, you're in mode two, you double click, you go back into mode one, then you click once more, you find yourself in the playback, you double click, once again, you're back into mode one, you click again, see, now it's in an overdub, it's in mode two, you double click, you find yourself back in where you're supposed to be, in the factory setting. So what you gotta do now is to unplug the pedal, then you plug it back in, and everything goes back to normal, the way it's supposed to be, right, see? Everything is fine, the pedal works fine, the pedal is great, it has two modes, and I'm sorry for the camera work, my seven-year-old daughter is helping me to film.

 You unplug the pedal, you press and hold, you stick the cable back in, and see, now it's on mode one. But if you click it again, one time, hold on, see, you click it double time, double time, you switch to mode two, see the half circle becomes on the bottom, and this is the mode two you get yourself into, and that's when all the crazy light starts flashing out of sync, and you think like, what the hell is wrong with my pedal, see? Double click, and you're in mode two, in the recording, you click again, this is mode one, you double click, you're in mode two, so you end up in mode two, and what happens, everything goes out of sync, and I guess it is usable for something, but not for me. So anyway, to get back into mode one, all you need to do is to unplug the pedal. If you find yourself in that situation, you press the pedal, you hold it, you stick the cable in, see, you're in mode two, you double click, you go back into mode one, then you click once more, you find yourself in the playback, you double click, once again, you're back into mode one, you click again, see, now it's in an overdub, it's in mode two, you double click, you find yourself back in where you're supposed to be, in the factory setting

. but I docked 2 stars because the stiff pedal made it too difficult for me to get tight loops out of it, plus with as much record time as it has, it would be nice to have a mini USB port to be able to drop saved recorded loops into the computer without having to output the pedal to my UA Apollo and track the saved loops in real-time.  All that said, gotta love Amazon Prime. Easy inexpensive return, and label cost deducted from refund amount

I wanted to like this but sent it back. I like the LED display, and being able to visually see where you are in the loop, and the fact that it can be stereo as well. But, trying to get things to loop tightly, without any gaps, without truncating the initial attack of the first transient in the loop.

O., it is very minimal, as you can see, you've literally just got a level on this pedal, and then the loop LED indicator. Now this is really cool, and again, I'm going to show you in the demo why that's useful and what that kind of indicates to you. As for power, it takes a 9-volt input, now unfortunately it doesn't come supplied with an adapter, but you can buy one for about 5 or 6 pounds, you can also power it using a 9-volt battery, so that's working portably, and you can access that by undoing the screw here, then you can put the battery in, and they say it will last about 4 hours using a battery, so that's a pretty decent battery life if you're planning to take this out and about

 Now this is really cool, and again, I'm going to show you in the demo why that's useful and what that kind of indicates to you. But enough about this pedal, let's jump in to a demo.  Now as for Boss's other offerings, if you want to basically pimp out the RC-1 with extra features, there's the RC-3 that has 99 memory banks which let you record up to 99 loops, you can then send them to your PC by connecting them up or, you know, just recall them while you're using the pedal, so that's really cool, it also has kind of drum loops built in if you want to have that extra element, obviously you can't plug a drum kit into here. The other way you can expand is the RC-1 only has the one track on there, so if you're interested in having multiple tracks, I don't know, like a verse chorus kind of thing, there's something like the RC-30, that does get quite expensive, I think you can pick them up used maybe for about £100, and the other thing that has is a mic input as well, which is pretty cool, so you can loop mic tracks as well as guitar ones, but yeah, obviously things go crazy, I could talk about some of the crazy stuff where they cost like £300 or £400, but in terms of simple loop pedals, hopefully I've covered everything you needed to know that. Okay, so thank you very much for watching this review, to conclude, I'd say this is a really good beginner loop pedal, I highly recommend it, I think it's worth that little bit of premium to pay for, but let me know what you think in the comments, whether you've had a better experience with a different type of loop pedal, or if you have any other recommended pedals that you think I should check out, or that you think anyone else can benefit from checking out. [DISCUSSION] your looper pedal experience

Great pedal but there was a dealbreaker...

 Hopefully you saw this at the beginning. And then once you want to record the next loop, just press it again, and you can then start recording the next loop, and then to stop it, press it twice. So I've just recorded that loop there, just put a few guitar parts down quickly. So if I play it again

 Let's try this. Do Do Do Do Do Do Do There we have it, so really easy to do straight away, just getting used to doing that, that kind of method of pressing the pedal in the right place. So it works similar to a lot of other different ones out in the market, easy to use straight out of the box, simple to get your head around, so it's a matter of a bit of practice and you can lay down all the loops you want under the sun. So this has been the Boss RC-1 Loop Station, very easy to use, sturdy built as you'd expect from Boss and a small enough footprint to fit on your existing pedalboard or just chuck it in your bag and take it wherever you want to go

 So I could change, you know, if I'm playing over the top of that, I might want the level a little bit lower on the pedal so you can hear what I'm playing over the top. And you could also do things where you're playing and you don't want the loop, and then you could drop it back in again. So let's try it with that. Et cetera, so those sort of things

 We've also got this pretty cool little feature at the top here, which is the LED indicator. So 24-segment LED, and it spins around in a circular pattern to show you where you are in the loop. And if it's red, it means it's recording, and if it's green, it means it's just playing. Another great thing about this is you've got 12 minutes of recording time

For instance I love the seymour duncan andromeda delay pedal much more than the small boss pedal.  A knob for each feature is better with me than cramming more stuff into a smaller interface.  So lads, what looper pedal do you think has the best interface and why?  Cheers! tone!
