 I have one cake recipe that uses mandarin oranges in the batter and you have to beat it until the oranges "pulverize". It seems to take longer with these wire type of beaters instead of the "blade" type of beaters. Of course, my last mixer lasted 30 years, so I may be a little more critical :-)

 After the 4th burnout, I went looking for a hand mixer with more oomph...on paper, this one seemed to fit the bill and then some

I bought this because I don't like stand mixers (I like to be able to "feel" the dough I'm mixing and control adjustments). I had a particular Cuisinart hand mixer that I LOVED, but burned out the motor once a year, if not more. After the 4th burnout, I went looking for a hand mixer with more oomph.

Beaters are the weak link.

 What a clean-up!  The beaters pushed the dough to the back of the bowl, and didn't seem to be able to retrieve it, no matter what I did. There was a lot of stopping and bowl scraping involved in the mixing. I never hand that issue with my Kitchen Aid, which would nicely integrate the batter around the edge of the bowl as I worked the mixer around its circumference.  The mixer is powerful, but I found it extremely awkward all the way around, and I returned it

  When I received this Braun mixer, I made a batch of my favorite oatmeal raisin cookies, because the dough on those gets quite stiff, and I thought it would be a good test for the mixer.  There were three things I did not like.  Although the grip of the handle was padded, I found myself grasping the motor area of the housing quite a bit as I tried to control the mixer, which is quite powerful. This was not comfortable on my hands which have some arthritis

We have being using Braun brand for generations now. Braun products are durable and last for ages if used properly . As for this mixer, it is a little noisier than my previous one but also twice as powerful. I have a Braun mixer with 3 speed levels which has lasted me for years

Well balanced and easy to use.

I like that the beaters and dough hooks are stainless steel, and easy to clean! I dislike that this beater is loud and an annoying pitched noise. Especially compared to my old Black and Decker Spatula Smart beater (which still works great, but I cannot find replacement beaters for original ones that are rusting). This Braun beater seems to work great though, both whipping light and using dough hooks for stiff cookie doughs. Both types of beaters are really easy to connect, disconnect, and to clean

This is probably one of the best hand mixers that I have used. It has great power, it not that heavy and the hooks for dough are a life saver if you do not have a proper stand mixer. I would totally recomend you to buy this if you are a medium to heavy user if you are a light user, there might be some other cheaper options for you.  Updated on August 2nd  So

Great Hand Mixer... until it broke down!

 There’s is no power or stability to this thing so everything splatters outside of the bowl and it doesn’t hold onto the ingredients. It’s very poor quality and massively overpriced. Total piece of crap. Did not live up to the Braun name at all
