During our smoothie-making party, this device did a great job, didn't create much suction, and pulverized everything very quickly. We also found that the attachments for this model were especially easy to change.
However, speaking of attachments, the Braun only includes two. If you're looking for a model with a chopping cup attachment or a milk frother, this is not the one. The only other flaw we found is that the textured handle is so grippy that it tends to hold onto little towel fuzzies and dust. It's quieter than our top pick and light compared to a lot of immersion blenders, making it more pleasant to use, especially when you're blending a big pot of soup. The blending arm is detachable and dishwasher-safe.

It comes with a beaker you can use for blending and for making whipped cream or vinaigrette with the included whisk attachment. The beaker is also a good size for making single-serve smoothies, but if your recipe includes stubborn ingredients like kale, you may find there are leafy bits or grains left in the final mix. If you want to use your immersion blender for smoothies, the KitchenAid Variable Speed Corded hand blender is around the same price and makes a smoother blend with fibrous elements like greens and fruit skin. However, the difference won't be as significant if you're working with softer, cooked ingredients, and it has a much worse build quality.

 You see, there's no splashing up, all the liquid is contained. It's a nicely blended smoothie. There are no chunks, it's very smooth, but you will be able to feel the seeds in your mouth, the blackberry seeds and that's going to happen even if you use a regular standard countertop blender. Unless you use a high-end blender, you're going to taste the seeds

 The button is soft. I didn't feel any inconvenience pressing and holding the button. It's not hard to press. It's really easy on your fingers, so you don't even notice that you're pressing it

The Braun MultiQuick 5 is an immersion blender that's well-suited for making soups but isn&#39;t the most versatile. It feels well-built and is very easy to clean as the shaft can be run under hot water and is dishwasher safe as well. The MQ505 variant comes with a whisk attachment as well as a heat-proof container, and there are other variations with different included attachments as well. While it&#39;s not good for making things like almond butter, smoothies, or for crushing ice, its ability to be placed directly into a pot makes it a very good choice for blending hot liquids, like soups or coffee

Been trying for weeks to post this review but Amazon won’t approve it for some reason. I got this as a replacement for a 15 year old Cuisinart immersion blender that I loved but it finally died after almost daily use. Apparently the updated model of that requires you to hold 2 buttons to make it work (for safety) but since I've managed to keep all my fingers so far that sounded like too much of a pain to be worth it. I chose this model because it does not have this "feature"

 You must hold a press a hot button for the blender to rotate, or it stops (a necessary safety feature I know). My button finger gets cooked medium-rare.

i got this blender to substitute my old white blender that i had for years which was old and not working great anymore, this blender is pretty and works well i used it to blend my soups the speeds is great as well it gets the job done

.. so small sample size. Early impressions are: the 2-speed motor is plenty strong enough; the device and jar are easy to clean; seems pretty ruggedly built; fits well in my hand during use - the motor buttons are easy to reach and operate; the blender shaft release buttons are easy to reach and manipulate; the cord is an appropriate length for use on a kitchen counter; haven't used the whisk attachment

I have experience with a KitchenAide version of a immersion blender very similar to this Braun. So far they are pretty much equal in quality and functionality.  I bought this Braun to make fruit smoothies, and have used it just twice so far.

Those are unnecessary considering I won't be using them based on their performance. You can make smoothies with this, it works better than my Osterizer. You can make custard and gravy and bechemel sauce in a hot pan over the stove top with this without damaging it

 Unless you're using the plastic container that came with the product, the whisk is too small to get you very far. The whisk is flimsy, made from very thin metal. The plastic container that comes with this scratches really easily when using the blender attachment. I have reason to believe I shredded small bits of the plastic into my food

Great value, doesn't overheat.

 You will burn out the motor.  Use the stick attachment to blend smoothies containing fresh fruit or small, soft, frozen berries, and to puree soups, sauces and soft-cooked vegetables. Use the whisk attachment to whisk cream and egg whites, to froth milk, and to emulsify salad dressings and mayonnaise. Use the mini food-processor attachment to chop nuts or fresh or cooked vegetables

Buy it, Use it, Don't Abuse it.
