 I think as you can see, if you're someone who's still got a lot of hair on your head, it's still quite thick. You're kind of early into the head shaving world, then. um, you're gonna have to work a little bit harder. If you're someone who's like kind of horseshoeing it up like I am, then this is gonna work better for you

BRAUN SERIES 9 - BEST SHAVER? FULL REVIEW UNBOXING AND HEAD SHAVE

 Second is that the effort required to clean this razor daily is much less than my previous razor which was a rotary style so maybe that's key. Third is that it cuts my facial hair eventually with much effort and change of techniques required for different scenarios and regions of the face. It seems like the total amount of time required to achieve a satisfactory shave is slightly less than my previous razor.  So now begins my negative comments which in volume are many, but the main goals are met so it balances out at least to me

  The lock mechanism to hold the position of the blade is ridiculously weak and therefore a useless feature. it slips out of lock way too easily so I've just stopped trying to bother using it.  The trimmer seems to try to be stylish rather than practical. It takes quite a bit of effort to get the trimmer to convince a hair to get cut because of its curved shallow blade design

 Naturally some of my expectations and comparisons derive from that previous ownership experience as well as specific attributes that desired improvements.  I was looking for a razor that would tolerate my lifestyle which was to shave every so often and not religiously every day. At a minimum it had to cut facial hair that had grown up to three days and not make my face feel like it was on fire due to irritating burn caused by razor friction. This razor offered at least the ability to cut facial hair the way I desired to live so I went for it

 The approach I have for this is to use a hair trimmer (avoid the razor's trimmer for anything more than you have to as it too will pull hair instead of cut when its long) and then return with this razor to cut.  The eye watering cost of this razor forces you into wallet loyalty! To some degree the cleaning mechanism of this razor binds you into vendor lock-in. At this cost tier I would like to have it randomly complement me, tell me a joke every once in awhile, read me an audio book, or second as a room motion detection alarm system.  I'll probably keep this razor around for as long as the battery holds out unless something better comes along with raving reviews and better lifecycle management/cost

Mixed Experiences, Some Good, Some Bad, Sum Is Meh

Been waiting a couple of weeks to write this review so that my beard can acclimate to the new shaver. This Braun replaces a 15 year old Norelco that had blades that were 2 years old. It wore out, so needed a new one. I've had 2 Braun & 2 Norelco shavers in my 73 years

I bought the series 9, But the Series 7 was better

I have thick facial hair and shavers have to work hard on me. This one produces the best shave I've ever had -- mirroring the experience when I used to use a razor and shaving cream.  Even better, it's fast! A couple swipes of each part of my face and I'm done. Almost all other electric shavers that I've had, including other Brauns, took multiple swipes on each area to get a clean shave -- sometimes up to a dozen

Hot and Chunky

I bought this almost a month ago, it's a great design feels well made. But it does leave hairs here and there and the biggest downfall is the sideburn trimmers. The side burn trimmers are next to useless as they do absolutely nothing. I've had dollar store trimmers work better

Not bad not the best

I have purchased 3 Braun shavers in the past hoping that the promise of getting a close shave on the neck, stray hairs, would finally come true. If I use the Braun 9 series, WET or DRY, it still does a mediocre job on the neck. Have to use a conventional razor blade to finish the job.

 Even though the head is larger and there are more cutting blades, I did not feel any real difference. Apparently one of the big selling points of the Braun 9 is its ability to better cut longer hair (3+ days of growth). This is not a real use case for me so I did not see an advantage there. In both one day old hair and two days old hair - the results were quite identical

(As a side note I will say this - I find that going over 2 days without shaving makes it quite hard for a shaver to get great results. In the few instances where I skipped shaving, I realized it was easier to just use a cassette blade for that)

Braun Series 7 vs Series 9 vs Panasonic Arc 5 (LV9N)

 And instead of facing forward it faces outwards at a 90 degree angle. This makes it perfect for gently dragging and getting those thick hairs or the hard to reach kind. And unlike most other trimmers, it doesnt irritate or cut to much, but its still a bit more abrasive than the main head.  Cleaning with the base is a breeze

 And if your like me and have those flat laying hairs on your neck, your still going to have a bit of a hard time with those.  Thankfully, the built in trimmer is actually incredibly nice. This is the #1 reason i like Braun over other brands. Instead of flipping out it slides out
