 So for me, about 12 months is the ideal interval to switch out to a new. Now over here, we got the same spring loading system and that gets everything popped up and the actual shaver moves from side to side here, the pivots. So that actually moves the blades and makes the cut. This cassette looks identical to the Series 9

 My series-7 actually still gives a closer and more gentle shave. It is better than the 9-series for cleaning up short stubble - for example, daily shaving. The 7-series never pulls my hairs when I’m shaving from 1-3 days of stubble. However, this new 9-series has painfully caught and pulled my beard hairs multiple times at every use! Ouch! I’m starting wonder whether I received a faulty cartridge, or the design of the cartridge is poor

 Braun, unless this is a known design flaw, I’d appreciate it if you would send me a new replacement cartridge. Perhaps that would fix the problem? Shaving with such an expensive shaver should not be painful… The Powercase is large, but still convenient enough for travel and it works well.

Almost Excellent - but it pulls my hairs!

 The silver trimmer above that is the direct and cut trimmer. That'll take those hairs that are growing in different directions, it'll align them, and it'll make sure we can trim those as well. And above that, you're going to see basically a straight line right in here, which is a protective skin guard that'll create smoothness as you're shaving. On the top and bottom, we have two opti-foils, is what they call them, or foil shavers

 So basically, all these five shaver elements in here can move in independent directions. So if I push down on this foil, you'll see one side will pop up, or if I push down on the trimmer, the other side will pop up. This is for contouring to your face in any direction as you're going, so you have the most efficient shave possible. Beard Trimming – Braun Series 9 Foil Shaver – Model 9290cc

  As is, it takes considerable effort to get an acceptable shave.  #2: The trimmer pop up is only good for sideburns.  For mustache, etc.

 Wow there it is Braun's best ever shaver. I'm not sure if that's already got a battery in it but it is considerably lighter than I thought it would be. I did think it would be heavier than that. It's not a heavy product

 If you're just going to put this thing on its cleaning station, it will charge at the same time, so that should keep things topped up nicely. You're not going to run out of charge if you're using this thing at home. Really quickly, again, on that cleaning station, it is quite a bulky thing, OK? It is quite a bulky thing and it does slide around a bit. If you're going to be balancing this unit on the edge of a sink or something like that, I think that's something you're going to have to watch out for

 That is a big note to take, I think. As you can see, if you're someone who's still got a lot of hair on your head, it's still quite thick. You're kind of early into the head shaving world. Then you're going to have to work a little bit harder

 If you're someone who's like kind of horseshoeing it up, like I am, then this is going to work better for you, especially if your hair is quite thin in all those areas. It does shave really well. It does shave really, really well for an electric shaver. It was comfortable

BRAUN SERIES 9 - BEST SHAVER? FULL REVIEW UNBOXING AND HEAD SHAVE

Like most electric shavers these days this one is overpriced, even at Costco's better deal.  I've had many electric shavers over the years, and this one does a very slightly better job than some, but not what I consider a great job.  I do think it beats the rotary shavers, like Norelco, etc.  Much of the seemingly high price is tied up in gadgetry like the cleaning system

Not a close shave, Great for getting 3 day stubble, But does not shave close very well have to go over a lot to get a close shave. Cleaner does work good. I will be returning to Costco

  I had a series 7 for close to 8 years and the motor was starting to get tired but was a great shaver.  It left a clean cut, didn't pull and the cleaning system was great.  This series 9 has been less than ideal.  As soon as I took it out of the box, the shaver would pull my facial hair ( I shave every third day typically), the shaver itself and cleaning system is very loud compared to my old shaver and the cleaning system doesn't tell you how dirty the shaver head is

  The cleaning system also only had one cleaning setting where as my old model would do a light clean, medium clean and heavy clean so this one ends up using more cleaning fluid than it should with each clean.  So far the battery seems to hold up very well, the motor doesn't bog down at all and I guess one more plus is the new power cord is a 90 degree plug in rather than straight out of the plug with saves some counter space on my bathroom sink.  I would suggest spending the money for a higher model.

It takes a lot longer to get a close shave than you might expect. So don't buy this as a time saver - it's not one. You need to perform multiple passes to get it smooth and consistent.
