 It's one of the more popular stability running shoes in the Brooks range and it provides stability using guide rails. They sit at each side of the shoe, you can see them there and they act a little bit like the bumpers at a bowling alley and that means that if your foot doesn't really roll at all when it's landing then the guide rails are not going to get in the way of the way that you run but if it does roll one way or the other the guide rails are going to kind of prevent that from happening somewhat and this is particularly what Brooks say, it's particularly important to try to avoid knee injuries. Now the other stability feature that I always mention is the heel counter. It's a pretty solid heel counter in this shoe, mainly internal but there's a little bit of external element to it there as well and you'll find that in stability shoes it's going to keep the heel locked into the shoe and it does that really well on this shoe

There is this other thing here which is new on the 21, I don't know if you can see that but I'm not really sure of the purpose, whether that's adding any, it's a bit squishy, whether that's adding, it's on both sides, whether that's adding any more stability I'm not really sure, I'm not really sure what it's for at all actually to be honest but there you go. Now the midsole on this, they have changed it in this model, they have used their DNA loft midsole all the way through from heel to toe and they say that that helps with the whole transition

 A quick mention to the weight of the shoe, now this is not trying to be a lightweight shoe, most stability shoes aren't. They have managed though to knock a few grams off of the weight compared to the previous version of this shoe. Up on the screen now what my size weighs, now I'm a UK size 11 so just bear that in mind and as I say yeah not lightweight by any means but at least they have reduced the weight slightly from what it was last year. Now the GTS stands for go to shoe and Brooks are basically saying you can wear this shoe for any of your runs so you could wear it yes for shorter runs for the 5k park runs for your 10k's but for me this shoe works best for half marathon distance or above or and whether you're doing a race at that distance or just your long runs

They aren’t very famous in my country but I really liked their shoes and find them value for money, however hardly anyone here has heard of them except for marathon runners. I have never seen anyone wearing them in my country but they have just entered the market here recently

What is the perception of Brooks? Are they one of the best?

 Something I loved about this was the heel counter. It felt really nice. You know, I'm someone in my daily trainers kind of likes a shoe to get in my way just a little bit and make sure I'm not swimming around too much in there and this really did the job. So proud of Brooks for putting up something so solid and I can see why anybody who needs a lot of support would enjoy that as well

 It's a solid shoe for daily training, especially with what I'm doing right now which is just kind of running easy and occasionally picking it up to like a steezy pace. So needless to say I have changed some of my opinions since my first impression review. So let's get right into it with a quick review starting with the stack height. So the Brooks Adrenaline Gts21 is coming in at 32 millimeters in the heel, 20 millimeters in the forefoot for a total heel-to-toe drop or slope of 12 millimeters

 I've actually been walking around in this shoe a lot just because I think it's super cozy and it hugs my feet well and it kind of cradles my arch just enough. So big ups to the Brooks Adrenaline Gts on that. Moving on to my final score of seven and a half out of ten, I think that's a very fair score for something like this who brings just everything you need to the table, but nothing extra. You know there's no extra frills or gimmicks

 I think I've already mentioned that it's not gonna be the shoe that I stick with forever because there's some like cooler, flashier shoes out there that maybe I'm more interested in. but it's a shoe that I know I can always come back to if I just need some reliable support, some generally nice cushioning, and that super soft upper. Try the Hoka One One Bondi or Stinson ATR. The Bondi is more optimized for roads, the Stinson has even more cushion and tread and can be worn on both roads and trails. 

If you think you pronate and need a stability shoe, try the Gaviota.

Any recommendations for running shoes? I am upwards of 200lbs. I use neutral Asics Cumulus now and would like to upgrade. 

I am finally gonna start to concentrate on my running and am starting to look at shoes.

Meh.

 it's super breathable and flexible. The laces are that nice flexible soft lace so you get nice flex on the top of your foot. It's got a padded ankle collar and a fairly stiff heel counter. You know it felt good around my foot
